Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Blueair Classic Pro CP7i is the top model in Blueair's Classic Pro range, made for large rooms up to 131 m2. It uses two fans and two HEPASilent filters. Air comes in through a wide front grille and leaves through two side vents, so it moves a lot of air fast. Blueair rates it at a combined CADR of 645 m3/h and says it removes 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, which covers dust, pollen, pet dander and most smoke. On high it can clean a 54 m2 room in about 12.5 minutes. Its main extra feature is HINS, a 405nm blue light that runs every 10 minutes to knock out viruses and bacteria caught on the filter. A laser sensor reads PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 and shows the result as a number and a colour band. The Blueair app handles remote control, schedules, air quality and filter life, and it works with Amazon Alexa for voice control. This suits a large Dubai villa: an open living-and-dining floor, a big majlis, or a whole open-plan level. It is a tall, heavy unit at 900mm and 14.5kg, so it needs floor space and is not made to move room to room. Apartment owners with one big living area will be fine, but for a small bedroom it is oversized. Filters need changing every 6 to 12 months depending on how dusty your air gets.

What to check before you order

Dubai air is hard on filters. Fine desert dust and summer sandstorms load a purifier faster than in cooler, cleaner cities, so plan on the shorter end of the filter cycle, closer to 6 months in a dusty villa near open land. The CP7i runs on standard 220-240V UAE mains and ships with a Type-G three-pin plug, so no adaptor is needed. It draws only 2.6 to 58W, so even running most of the day it adds very little to your DEWA bill. In a villa, put it on the main open living-and-majlis floor where the family spends time, and keep it near a wall socket since it is heavy to reshuffle. For Alexa voice control you need your home Wi-Fi to reach that room, which is usually fine in an apartment but can be patchy at the far end of a large villa. Buy from a UAE seller and keep your invoice so any warranty claim stays local.

Questions about the Blueair Classic Pro CP7i Air Purifier

What is the Blueair Classic Pro CP7i?
Chevron down icon
It is Blueair's flagship large-room air purifier. It uses two fans and two HEPASilent filters to pull in air and clean it fast, rated for spaces up to 131 m2. It also has a blue-light germ cycle and Wi-Fi control, so it suits big open rooms rather than small bedrooms.

What room size does it really cover in a Dubai villa?
Chevron down icon
Blueair rates it for rooms up to 131 m2 and says it clears about 54 m2 in 12.5 minutes on high. In a real villa that means one big open living-and-dining floor or a large majlis. For a whole villa you would still want a separate unit per main zone.

Is it right for an apartment?
Chevron down icon
Yes, if you have a large open-plan living area. In a one or two bedroom apartment it can be more purifier than you need, and it is a tall 900mm floor unit, so it takes real floor space. For a small flat, a smaller Blueair like the Mini fits better.

Does it need Wi-Fi to work?
Chevron down icon
No, it runs fine as a standalone purifier without Wi-Fi. You need Wi-Fi only for the app features and Alexa control: remote on and off, schedules, live air quality and filter-life alerts. The buttons on the unit and Auto mode work with no network at all.

Do I need a hub or bridge for it?
Chevron down icon
No hub or bridge is needed. It connects straight to your home Wi-Fi, and the sensor and controls are built in. There is nothing extra to buy or wire up beyond plugging it into a wall socket and, if you want, adding it in the app.

Is there a monthly subscription or fee?
Chevron down icon
No. The Blueair app, air quality readings and filter tracking are all free. The only ongoing cost is replacement filters every 6 to 12 months. There is no monthly charge to use any feature of the purifier or the app.

Which app controls it?
Chevron down icon
The Blueair app, free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. You set the purifier up once, then use it for remote control, schedules, real-time air quality from the built-in sensor, and a reminder when the filter is getting low and needs replacing.

Does it work with Amazon Alexa?
Chevron down icon
Yes. It links with Amazon Alexa, so you can start it, stop it or change fan speed by voice through any Echo speaker. This is handy in a large villa living room where the unit may sit across the room from where you are sitting.

Does it work with Google Home or Apple HomeKit?
Chevron down icon
Blueair lists Amazon Alexa as the supported voice assistant for this model. Google Home and Apple HomeKit are not advertised for it, so do not count on native support for those. If Google or Apple Home control is a must, ask us before you order.

How well does it handle Dubai dust and sandstorms?
Chevron down icon
It handles dust well because the HEPASilent filters catch particles down to 0.1 microns, which covers fine desert dust and pollen. The trade-off is that dusty air loads the filter faster, so in a villa near open desert or a building site, expect to replace filters sooner.

Does UAE summer heat affect it?
Chevron down icon
Summer heat does not stop it working. It is an indoor unit made for normal air-conditioned rooms, so keep it inside where you live, not on a balcony or in a hot store room. Run it more in summer, when windows stay shut and indoor dust builds up.

Does it use a standard UAE plug?
Chevron down icon
Yes, it is made for UAE mains. It runs on 220-240V and comes with a Type-G three-pin plug, the same as your other UAE sockets, so no adaptor is needed. Just plug it into a standard wall socket near where you want it to stand.

How much does it add to my DEWA bill?
Chevron down icon
Very little. It draws only 2.6 to 58W depending on speed, so even running all day it uses less than a single bright light bulb at full power. On Auto or Eco it sips power most of the time and only ramps up when the air gets dirty, so the DEWA impact stays small.

Does it have a battery, or does it need mains power?
Chevron down icon
There is no battery. It is a mains-powered unit that stays plugged in and running, which is normal for a large purifier of this size. You cannot use it cordless, so pick a spot near a wall socket where it can stay without being moved around.

Is it noisy, and can I sleep with it on?
Chevron down icon
Noise runs from about 24 dB on Night mode up to 55 dB on speed 4. Night mode is quiet enough for a bedroom, close to a soft whisper. On high it is clearly audible, more like a fan, which is fine in a busy living room during the day.

How often do I change the filter and what does it cost?
Chevron down icon
Amazon's listing suggests every 6 to 9 months, while Blueair rates the filter for up to 12 months. In dusty Dubai air, plan for the shorter end. The app tracks filter life and reminds you. Budget for a genuine Blueair replacement each time, and ask us for the current UAE price.

What is the HINS blue light and is it safe?
Chevron down icon
HINS is a 405nm visible blue light inside the unit that cycles every 10 minutes to deactivate viruses and bacteria caught on the filter. It works inside the machine, not out in the room, so it is not UV shining at you. There is nothing you need to switch on or maintain.

Does it remove smoke, cooking smells and shisha?
Chevron down icon
It captures smoke and cooking particles down to 0.1 microns, so visible haze clears well. Gas-based odours, like strong shisha or frying smells, are a different job that needs an activated carbon filter. If odour control matters to you, check which filter option you want fitted and ask us before you order.

Who installs it and is setup hard?
Chevron down icon
There is almost nothing to install. Unbox it, check the filter is seated, plug it in and switch on. To add Wi-Fi and Alexa, follow the Blueair app setup, which takes a few minutes. Our team can deliver it and get the app and voice control running for you if you prefer.

What is the warranty and support in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Warranty terms are not printed on the Amazon listing, so we will not quote a fixed period you cannot rely on. Blueair advertises an extended warranty and a 30-day trial on purchases from its own site. Buy through a UAE seller, keep your invoice, and ask us to confirm the exact cover first.

How much is it and how do I buy it from you?
Chevron down icon
It sells on Amazon.ae for AED 2,699, which is the current confirmed price. Some other listings online are much higher and look like grey-market resale, so be careful. You can buy through us and we will arrange a fair UAE price, delivery and setup. Message us for today's stock and lead time.

How does it compare to the Dyson Purifier Cool or Coway Airmega Mighty?
Chevron down icon
The Dyson Purifier Cool doubles as a fan and looks sleek but covers less floor area. The Coway Airmega Mighty is a strong mid-size unit for a bedroom or study at a lower price. The CP7i beats both on sheer room coverage, so pick it when you have a genuinely large open space to clean.

Who should not buy this purifier?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if your room is small. In a single bedroom or a compact apartment it is oversized, tall and heavier to move, and you would pay for coverage you never use. A Blueair Mini or Coway Mighty fits those spaces better and costs less to buy and re-filter.

Does it help with allergies and asthma in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
It can help. Catching pollen, dust and pet dander down to 0.1 microns reduces the triggers floating in your air, which many Dubai allergy and asthma sufferers notice during dusty spells. It is not a medical device and does not cure anything, so keep following your doctor's advice as well.
