Detailed review
What whole-home audio really sounds like in your villa.
We paid AED 80,000 for a Crestron and Sonos install on a Palm Garden Home, and two years later the back garden zone has still never connected. The integrator stopped answering. In the formal majlis, six metres of cathedral ceiling and a marble floor turn every voice track into a phone call inside a swimming pool. On the pool deck, the original speakers chalked out in 14 months because nobody told us salt mist eats grilles. Friday BBQ in Dubai Hills, the Sonos in the kitchen plays beautifully for the cook alone, and by the time the music reaches the lawn it is a faint memory because the Wi-Fi cannot make it past the back wall. AirPlay drops out four times before someone gives up and brings out a Bluetooth speaker. Four villas, four different versions of the same broken promise.

We rebuild the whole stack one installer deep. Wi-Fi 6 mesh and a managed PoE switch first, audio VLAN second, speakers last. Sonos Era 100 in the kitchen, Sonance Invisible IS6 under the venetian plaster of the majlis, B&W CCM ceilings in the master, Klipsch AW outdoor on SS316 brackets for the Palm pool deck, Apple HomePod 2 as the Thread border router, NAD CI or Crestron in the rack for sixteen-zone villas. We programme the IACAD prayer times into a scene so the music fades for Maghrib and resumes after Iftar without anyone touching the app. We file your Emaar, Nakheel, Damac, Meraas or Trakhees no-objection letter, hold the Dubai Municipality boundary-dB cap so the neighbour never calls 901, and run a quarterly salt-rinse on every coastal install. From AED 4,500 to a 50-zone Emirates Hills stack.

Rated 4.97/5 by Dubai Homeowners
Nine layers of villa sound.
Nine layers, one installer, one handover report. One app for Sonos, HomePod, Sonance and Crestron across Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, Dubai Hills and Downtown.
Multi-Room Streaming
Sonos S2 and AirPlay 2 running side by side across every zone. Sonos Era 100 in the kitchen, HomePod 2 in the master, one app for the whole family.
Majlis Sound
Eight-inch coaxials on a 2.4 metre grid for cathedral ceilings, sealed back-cans against gypsum bounce, low-listening-position calibration so the marble floor stops turning voices into a swimming pool.
In-Ceiling Architectural
Sonance Visual Performance VP62R, B&W CCM663 or KEF Ci200QR fitted with sealed back-cans, painted bezels, and Civil Defence baffles. The ceiling looks finished, the room finally sounds tuned.
Invisible Plaster Speakers
Sonance Invisible Series IS6 cut in before the plasterer’s last skim coat. Zero visible grilles in the formal majlis, your designer keeps the venetian plaster, music still arrives.
Outdoor & Pool Deck
Klipsch AW, Sonance Mariner and B&W AM-1 on SS316 brackets, IP66 minimum, IP68 cable glands. Salt-rinse contract every quarter so the Palm pool deck still plays in summer four.
Adhan & Ramadan Scenes
Five-prayer auto-mute against the IACAD API, Quran routed to the entry hall, Ramadan iftar and suhoor presets that fade in after Maghrib without anyone touching the app.
Network Backbone
Wi-Fi 6 or 6E mesh with hardwired backhaul, dedicated audio VLAN, 24-port managed PoE switch, ceiling APs at one per 80 to 100 sqm. AirPlay finally reaches the back garden.
Cinema & Listening Room
B&W 803 D4, Lyngdorf TDAI-3400 or NAD Masters in a treated room. REW measurement, RoomPerfect or Trinnov calibration, Roon Nucleus serving lossless to every endpoint in the villa.
Apple Home & Matter Voice
Apple HomePod 2 as a Thread border router, Siri voice in English and Arabic, Matter scenes wired into Sonos AirPlay 2 endpoints, Wiim Amp Pro for the audiophile son’s study.
Our Working Approach

How we wire your villa.

A team that engineers the network first, tunes the majlis acoustics, files your compound paperwork and commissions every zone into Apple Home.
Dubai villa whole-home audio zone surveySonance and Sonos amp closet rackDubai villa Adhan scene commissioning
We start with the network, not the speakers. Most broken Dubai installs we inherit failed at the Wi-Fi, not at the kit. We walk every room, mark each zone on a floor plan, photograph the ceiling void, find the amp closet, and count how many access points it will take to cover a 400 sqm villa without an AirPlay dropout. Then we design Wi-Fi 6 mesh with hardwired backhaul, a dedicated audio VLAN on a 24-port managed PoE switch, and ceiling-mounted APs at one per 80 to 100 sqm. By the end of day one you know exactly why the back garden never connected.

Then we tune the majlis. A six-metre ceiling over a marble floor with glass on two sides is the hardest acoustic problem in any Dubai villa, and most integrators answer it by adding more subs and making it worse. We answer it with eight-inch coaxials on a 2.4 metre grid, sealed back-cans against the gypsum, Sonance Invisible IS6 under the venetian plaster where your designer refused grilles, and a low-listening-position calibration with a measurement mic at majlis seating height. The bass stops booming, voices stop ringing, and the room sounds like the architect’s drawing rather than a phone call inside a swimming pool. Then we move on to the bedrooms.
Before install day we file your compound no-objection letter and the Dubai Municipality noise paperwork. Emaar Community Management for Arabian Ranches and Dubai Hills, My Nakheel for Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Islands, Damac Living for Damac Hills, Meraas for City Walk and Bluewaters, Trakhees for the Palm fronds. Typical turnaround is three to ten working days. We also programme a software boundary-dB cap so the pool deck zone physically cannot exceed 55 dB(A) day or 45 dB(A) night at the property line, which is the rule that gets the 901 call in JBR. Civil Defence CL3 cable, plenum-rated where the tower demands it, every termination photographed for the as-built file.

On commissioning day a two-engineer crew tunes every zone with a measurement mic, sets the per-zone max volumes so the kids’ room never wakes the master, and groups the twelve zones onto a single Sonos and Apple Home page. We programme the IACAD prayer-time API into the Adhan scene, build the Ramadan iftar and suhoor presets, and route Quran to the entry hall while the majlis fades media. Sonos Era 100, HomePod 2, Sonance Invisible IS6, NAD CI 8-150, Wiim Amp Pro and Crestron Home all answer to one app. Your handover folder has the ECAS certificates, the TDRA stickers, the compound NOC and 45 minutes of training with your family.

How it works

How to wire a Dubai villa for 12 zones of audio that the Wi-Fi cannot kill.

Six steps we walk every Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, Dubai Hills and Downtown villa through, from the first site visit to handover.
  1. Walk every room before you write a kit list.
Mark each zone on the floor plan, photograph the ceiling void, find the amp closet, log the marble floors and double-height ceilings, decide which speakers stay visible and which need invisible plaster-overs. Laser measure, measurement mic and floor plan, 90 minutes on a 4-bed villa.
  2. File the compound NOC and DEWA notification while the kit is on order.
Emaar, Nakheel, Damac, Meraas and Trakhees turnarounds run three to ten working days. Get paperwork moving on day one so install begins on day seven, not day twenty-one. Same week where the developer is pre-logged.
  3. Build the network before the speakers go up.
Wi-Fi 6 mesh with hardwired backhaul, audio VLAN on a 24-port managed PoE switch, ceiling APs one per 80 to 100 sqm. If the network is wrong, Sonos drops, AirPlay stutters, the back garden never connects. UniFi U6 Enterprise APs and managed switch, one full day.
  4. Pull every cable in fire-rated CL3 with 250 mm separation from mains.
16/4 OFC for runs under 30 m, 14/4 for 30 to 60 m, 12/2 outdoor. Plenum jacket where the tower demands it. Every termination photographed for the as-built file. West Penn or Belden CL3 LSZH cable, 3 to 4 days first fix.
  5. Mount the in-ceilings and Sonance Invisible IS6 before the final skim coat.
Civil Defence-rated baffles in every gypsum penetration, sealed back-cans on every ceiling speaker, IS6 cut in before the plasterer’s last pass. Never after. Back-can kits and plaster-over template, half a day per floor.
  6. Commission and tune room by room with REW.
Set the per-zone max volumes, programme the boundary-dB cap on outdoor, build the Adhan scene against the IACAD API, hand over the as-built folder with the NOCs, ECAS certificates and warranty cards. REW with UMIK-2 and IACAD API key, one full day plus 45 minutes of training.
frequently asked questions
Whole-home audio, answered plainly.
Thirty real questions from Dubai homeowners on Sonos, Sonance, majlis acoustics, Adhan logic, Palm salt air and tower compliance. Last Updated: April 2026.
What is whole-home audio and how is it different from a soundbar?
Chevron down icon
Whole-home audio is a fixed install of speakers wired or streamed across multiple zones of a Dubai villa or apartment, controlled by one app rather than one box. A soundbar serves one room and dies the moment you walk into the kitchen. A proper system runs Sonos, Apple HomePod 2 and Sonance Invisible together so the kitchen, majlis, master and pool deck all play independently or as a group.

How much does a multi-room audio system cost in a Dubai villa?
Chevron down icon
A 1-bed Marina apartment with a Sonos Era 100 stereo pair starts From AED 4,500. A 4-bed villa in Arabian Ranches or Tilal Al Ghaf with 8 to 12 in-ceiling zones runs AED 45,000 to 120,000. A 6-bed Dubai Hills Fairway or Jumeirah Golf Estates villa with cinema room and outdoor lands at AED 120,000 to 350,000. A Palm Signature or Emirates Hills Sector W estate with 25 to 50 zones can reach AED 1.2M.

Sonos vs Sonance vs B&W vs KEF, which is best for a Dubai majlis?
Chevron down icon
Sonance Visual Performance VP62R or VP82R is our default in 70 percent of Dubai majlis ceilings because the magnetic grille disappears in white gypsum. B&W CCM7.5 S2 goes in the principal lounge of an Emirates Hills villa where the client wants a Continuum cone. KEF Ci200QR Uni-Q wins when the majlis has an odd shape and you need a single-point stereo image. Sonos drives them all from a Sonos Amp.

Can I retrofit whole-home audio after my villa is finished?
Chevron down icon
Yes, but the kit list changes. We use Sonance Invisible IS6 plaster-over speakers where ceilings are already painted, Sonos Era 100 and HomePod 2 where running cable is impossible, and Wiim Amp Pro feeding existing wires where a previous installer left a half-built system. Battery-free Aqara and SwitchBot products do not exist in audio yet, so retrofits still need at least one cable run per zone.
Contact us
Contact us
How many zones does a 4-bedroom Dubai villa actually need?
Chevron down icon
Eight to twelve. Typical zoning is kitchen, family room, formal majlis, master suite, two kids' rooms, terrace, pool deck, plus a maid's room and a driver's cabin if staff are resident. Anything more granular than this turns into a control panel nobody uses. We map it on the floor plan during the free site survey.

How long does a multi-room audio install take in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
About fourteen working days for a villa retrofit. Days one to six handle the compound NOC, DEWA notification and kit order. Days seven to ten are first-fix cabling. Days eleven to thirteen are speaker mounting and amp closet rack. Day fourteen is commissioning, REW calibration, Adhan scene programming and handover. Apartments in Burj Vista or Address Sky View often finish in seven days because tower NOCs move faster.

What is the cheapest honest starting point for a Dubai apartment?
Chevron down icon
From AED 4,500 buys a Sonos Era 100 stereo pair in the living room, paired through your home Wi-Fi, with a 30-day return tune included. We will not quote below this because anything cheaper is a single Bluetooth speaker with no zoning, no Adhan logic and no future. The next honest tier is around AED 18,000 for a 2-bed apartment with four in-ceiling zones.

Will my Apple Music lossless work across the system?
Chevron down icon
On Apple Home endpoints, yes. HomePod 2 streams Apple Music lossless natively, and AirPlay 2 carries CD-quality lossless across compatible Sonance and Wiim Amp Pro endpoints. Sonos Era 100 and Era 300 do not yet decode Apple lossless natively, so for an audiophile listening room we run a Roon Nucleus or NAD CI 8-150 and bridge from there.

Do I need an integrator or can I DIY a Sonos villa?
Chevron down icon
You can DIY two or three Sonos boxes and a HomePod for a Marina apartment. Past four zones, you need a managed network, an audio VLAN, a 24-port PoE switch, Civil Defence CL3 cable and a compound NOC, none of which Noon ships in the box. The AED 80k Crestron horror stories almost always start with a homeowner trying to bridge DIY and pro mid-build.

Contact us
What goes wrong with cheap installs in Dubai (the AED 80k story)?
Chevron down icon
The classic failure pattern is a Crestron and Sonos stack sold by a generalist AV firm with no network engineer on staff. The back garden zone never connects because the Wi-Fi was never designed for 400 sqm, the pool deck speakers chalk out in 14 months because nobody specified SS316 brackets, and the integrator stops answering once the deposit is invoiced. We rebuild three of these every quarter.

Contact us
Can the system mute or fade for Adhan automatically?
Chevron down icon
Yes, on every install. We programme the IACAD prayer-time API into a scene that fades media down at Maghrib, plays Adhan softly in the entry hall zone, and resumes the prior playlist after Iftar. The same scene works across Sonos, Apple HomePod 2, Heos amps and Crestron Home in one villa. Per-zone routing means the majlis pauses while the kids' room ducks to 20 percent, your call.
Contact us
Contact us
How does Ramadan iftar / suhoor scene programming work?
Chevron down icon
We build two saved scenes for the Ramadan calendar. Iftar plays a chill instrumental playlist on the terrace at 40 percent while the majlis runs Quran at 25 percent, then pauses for Maghrib and resumes after the meal. Suhoor wakes the kitchen zone gently before Fajr at 18 percent. The whole thing runs on the IACAD prayer-time API so the timings shift correctly with the Hijri calendar without you touching the app.
Contact us
Contact us
Can the same system play music and Quran without conflict?
Chevron down icon
Yes. We zone Quran to the majlis or the entry hall and route streaming music to the family room, kids' wing and outdoor. Each zone has its own volume cap and its own source. During Ramadan the Quran zone runs continuously while other zones pause for Adhan windows then resume their own playlists. Sonos S2 and AirPlay 2 carry both streams at once on the dedicated audio VLAN.
Contact us
Contact us
Can we cap the kids' room volume below the master?
Chevron down icon
Yes, per zone. Inside the Sonos and Crestron Home apps we set a maximum volume per zone so the ten-year-old who discovers a new song cannot rattle the chandelier in the dining hall. Typical caps are 30 percent in the kids' rooms after 9pm, 50 percent in the master at any time, and 60 percent on the pool deck before the boundary-dB cap kicks in. Caps survive a Wi-Fi reboot.

Contact us
Will the doorbell duck the music across every zone?
Chevron down icon
Yes, when the doorbell speaks Sonos, Heos or Apple Home. We integrate Aqara G4, Doorbird and the Apple Home doorbell so the chime fades the music to 15 percent across every zone for six seconds, then ramps back. For older intercoms we add a Sonos Amp line-in trigger so the same fade still works. Useful when the cook is in the kitchen and the gardener is at the gate.

How do invisible / under-plaster speakers actually sound?
Chevron down icon
Sonance Invisible Series IS6 covers 80 Hz to 20 kHz cleanly when paired with a dedicated subwoofer and driven by a Sonos Amp or NAD CI 580. They roll off below 80 Hz, which is why we always pair them with an in-wall Sonance Sub 8 or a floor sub. In a venetian-plaster majlis they outperform a visible six-inch ceiling speaker because the plaster acts as the diaphragm.

Can outdoor speakers survive a Dubai summer and salt air on the Palm?
Chevron down icon
Only if you specify them correctly. We default to Sonance Mariner, Klipsch AW-650 and B&W AM-1 mounted on SS316 stainless brackets, with IP66 minimum rating and IP68 cable glands. We refuse plastic-grille outdoor speakers because they chalk and crack within 18 months in Dubai sun. The salt-rinse service contract every quarter is what makes the difference between year three and year fourteen.

How do you handle a mixed Sonos + HomePod + Heos household?
Chevron down icon
With one app per room and Apple Home or Crestron Home as the umbrella. Sonos S2 keeps the family-room and kitchen zones, Apple HomePod 2 covers the master because the wife wants Siri in Arabic, Heos by Denon Home 250 lives in the husband's study because he wants BluOS lossless, Wiim Amp Pro feeds the audiophile son. One audio VLAN, one network, every brand answering to one screen.

Contact us
Can voice control work in Arabic as well as English?
Chevron down icon
Yes, on Apple HomePod 2 and Apple TV 4K. Siri handles Arabic commands natively for Apple Home scenes including Adhan triggers and zone grouping. Sonos Voice and Alexa do not yet handle Arabic in the UAE, so for an Arabic-first household we lead with HomePod 2 as the Thread border router and use Sonos endpoints purely for music playback.
Contact us
Contact us
How does the system stop the neighbours calling 901 after 10 pm?
Chevron down icon
We programme a software boundary-dB cap so the pool deck and terrace zones physically cannot exceed Dubai Municipality limits at the property line. That is 55 dB(A) day and 45 dB(A) night, measured at the boundary. After 10 pm the cap drops automatically, and the master bedroom Sonos in a JBR apartment drops to a polite ceiling so the after-party never gets the AED 1,000 second-visit fine.

What is the day-by-day install timeline for a Dubai villa retrofit?
Chevron down icon
Day zero is the free site survey. Days one to two file the Emaar, Nakheel, Damac, Meraas or Trakhees NOC. Day three triggers the DEWA minor-works notification. Days four to six lock the kit list and order. Days seven to ten are first-fix cabling. Days eleven to thirteen mount speakers and rack the amp closet. Day fourteen commissions, calibrates and hands over.

Who files the compound NOC and the DEWA notification?
Chevron down icon
We do, both. Our paperwork team handles Emaar Community Management for Arabian Ranches and Dubai Hills, My Nakheel for Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Islands, Damac Living for Damac Hills, Meraas for City Walk and Bluewaters, and Trakhees for the Palm fronds. The DEWA minor-works notification is filed by our DEWA-approved electrical sub-contractor. You do not visit a community management office.

What cable spec do you run and why does CL3 matter for Civil Defence?
Chevron down icon
We run West Penn or Belden CL3 LSZH speaker cable on every villa install, plenum-rated CMP where a Downtown or Business Bay tower runs return-air through the false ceiling. CL3 matters because Dubai Civil Defence requires a low-smoke zero-halogen jacket on any cable that crosses a fire-rated partition. A cheap installer who pulls CL2 generic cable can technically invalidate the building's DCD handover certificate.

How do you build the network so AirPlay does not drop on a 400 sqm villa?
Chevron down icon
With Wi-Fi 6 mesh, hardwired backhaul to every access point, and a 24-port managed PoE switch in the amp closet. We deploy ceiling-mounted UniFi U6 Enterprise APs at one per 80 to 100 sqm, build a dedicated audio VLAN with mDNS reflector, and put streamers on a 5 GHz SSID with band steering disabled. The TDRA-released Wi-Fi 6E 6 GHz band carries the high-bandwidth AirPlay traffic.

What back-can / fire baffle do you fit in a gypsum ceiling?
Chevron down icon
Sonance back-cans matched to the speaker SKU on every Visual Performance and Invisible install. Civil Defence-rated fire baffles in every gypsum penetration, paired with intumescent sealant where the speaker crosses a fire-rated layer. The back-can also kills bass bounce into the ceiling void, which is why a sealed VP62R sounds tighter than the same speaker dropped naked into a hole.

How is the Sonance Invisible installed before the final skim coat?
Chevron down icon
We coordinate with your plasterer so the IS6 mounting frame is set into the gypsum before the last skim. The plaster goes over the diaphragm, a thin paper acoustic veil sits between, and the final paint coat finishes the surface. Cut in after the plasterer leaves and you damage both the speaker and the wall. The sequencing is in the install schedule we share with your interior designer on day one.

What warranty applies if the kit was bought grey-market off Amazon?
Chevron down icon
None we can honour, in most cases. Sonos, Apple HomePod 2, B&W, KEF, Sonance and NAD warranties in the UAE require the unit to be sold by a UAE distributor with an ECAS or G-Mark sticker on the data plate. Grey-market boxes shipped from Amazon US fail at month 14 and the local distributor will not touch them. We refuse to install grey-market kit on a new project.

What is included in the quarterly salt-rinse service contract?
Chevron down icon
A four-times-a-year visit on every Palm, Jumeirah Bay, Pearl, Bluewaters and JBR install. We rinse every outdoor speaker grille and bracket with fresh water, inspect the SS316 hardware for corrosion, re-seal IP68 cable glands where needed, and test every outdoor zone for level and dropouts. Annual service adds firmware audit on every Sonos, HomePod, Heos and Crestron component.

How is per-zone calibration done (REW, Trueplay, RoomPerfect)?
Chevron down icon
Three layers. Sonos Trueplay covers the basic Sonos endpoints in five minutes per room with an iPhone. Lyngdorf RoomPerfect handles the cinema and listening room with a measurement mic at four positions. REW with a UMIK-2 calibrated mic handles the majlis cathedral-ceiling tuning, where we measure at majlis seating height and adjust the amp DSP zone by zone. The full calibration pass takes a working day.

What does the as-built handover folder contain on day fourteen?
Chevron down icon
The compound NOC approval letter, the DEWA notification acknowledgement, every ECAS and G-Mark certificate, the TDRA radio-band stickers photographed in place, the Civil Defence cable schedule with manufacturer datasheets, the speaker zone map, the amp closet rack diagram, the Sonos and Apple Home admin credentials, the five-year warranty cards, and 45 minutes of in-person training with your family. We schedule the 30-day return tune at handover.
