Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Dreame X50 Ultra is the brand's 2025 flagship robot vacuum and mop, and it does almost the whole job on its own. It vacuums hard floors and carpet, mops with hot water, then returns to a dock that empties the dust, washes and dries the mop pads, and refills its own water tank. The headline trick is a set of small retractable legs, which Dreame calls ProLeap, that lift the body over thresholds and small steps up to 6cm. It can also drop its LiDAR turret to slip under low sofas and beds at just 89mm. Suction reaches up to 20,000Pa, so it handles fine dust, sand and pet hair. The main brush resists tangling, and a side arm reaches into corners and along edges. For Dubai homes, this suits a villa or a larger apartment with several rooms and a few level changes. Owners get the most from the self-emptying dock, since it runs for weeks without much attention. Tenants can use it too, as nothing is wired in. A few honest limits. The dock is large and needs floor space near a socket. At AED 4,499 it is a real spend, so a small one-level apartment may not need this much machine. It cannot climb a full staircase, and very high pile rugs can still catch any robot. Setup is simple, and it comes with a 2-year UAE warranty.

  • Retractable legs lift it over thresholds and obstacles up to 6cm, so it moves between rooms on its own.
  • Self-cleaning dock empties dust for about 100 days, washes the mop pads in hot water and dries them.
  • Up to 20,000Pa suction pulls fine Dubai dust, sand and pet hair from hard floors and carpet.
  • Runs from the Dreamehome app or Alexa and Google voice, with maps, no-go zones and schedules.

What to check before you order

Dubai floors collect fine dust and sand fast, especially near open windows and balcony doors, so a daily quick run keeps things under control. The strong suction and the hot-water mop suit the marble and tile you find in most villas and apartments here. The dock plugs into a normal 220-240V Type-G socket, the same three-pin plug used across the UAE, so no adapter is needed. Wi-Fi matters. In a large villa, place your router or a mesh point so the robot keeps signal on every floor it cleans, or it may pause during a run. Owners benefit most from the hands-off dock. Renters can use it freely, since nothing is fixed to walls or plumbing. It ships with a 2-year manufacturer warranty in the UAE, and it is stocked by Amazon.ae, noon, Sharaf DG and Dreame's own UAE store, so service and spare parts are easy to reach. DEWA tariffs are low, so running cost stays small.

Questions about the Dreame X50 Ultra Robot Vacuum

What exactly is the Dreame X50 Ultra?
Chevron down icon
It is a high-end robot vacuum and mop with a self-cleaning dock. It sweeps and vacuums your floors, mops with hot water, then parks itself to empty the dust and wash its own pads. It maps your home and cleans room by room on a schedule you set.

Is it a good fit for a Dubai villa?
Chevron down icon
Yes. A villa with several rooms, tile or marble floors and a few thresholds is where it works best. The retractable legs lift it over door sills up to 6cm, and the big dust bag means it runs for weeks before you empty anything. Just make sure Wi-Fi reaches each floor it cleans.

Does it work well in an apartment?
Chevron down icon
It works fine in an apartment, especially a larger one with multiple rooms. On a small one-level flat it can feel like more machine than you need. The dock also takes up floor space, so check you have room for it next to a power socket before you buy.

Do I need Wi-Fi to use it?
Chevron down icon
Yes, you need a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the app, maps, scheduling and voice control. The robot can run a basic clean once set up, but you will want Wi-Fi for the useful features. In a large villa, a mesh point helps it stay connected across floors.

Does it need a separate hub or bridge?
Chevron down icon
No. There is no extra hub to buy. The robot connects straight to your home Wi-Fi and the dock does all the self-cleaning work. You only need a power socket for the dock and a Wi-Fi signal that reaches the areas you want cleaned.

Is there a monthly subscription or fee?
Chevron down icon
No. The app, mapping, scheduling and voice control are all free to use. Your only running costs are consumables like the dust bags, mop pads, brushes and filters, plus a little electricity and water. There is nothing to pay Dreame each month.

Which app controls it?
Chevron down icon
It uses the Dreamehome app on iPhone or Android. From there you set schedules, draw no-go zones, pick suction and water levels, and review photos of obstacles the robot spotted. The app is the main way to control the robot and manage its maps.

Does it work with Alexa and Google Assistant?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Once you link the Dreamehome app, you can start it, stop it and send it back to the dock using Alexa or Google Assistant by voice. This is handy if you already have an Echo or Nest speaker at home. Full control still lives in the app itself.

Does it work with Apple Home or HomeKit?
Chevron down icon
No. The X50 Ultra does not support Apple Home or HomeKit. If you use an iPhone you still control it through the Dreamehome app, which works well on iOS. You just cannot add it to the Apple Home app or run it with Siri scenes.

How does it cope with Dubai heat and dust?
Chevron down icon
The robot lives and works indoors, so the summer heat outside is not an issue. Fine dust and sand are the real test here, and the strong suction plus the washable filter handle both. Run it daily during dusty months and rinse the filter often to keep suction strong.

Can it really pick up fine sand?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Fine sand tracked in from balconies and car parks is one of the hardest things for any vacuum. The 20,000Pa suction and the anti-tangle brush deal with it on tile and short carpet. For heavy sand near a door, a quick daily run stops it building up.

What power and plug does the dock use?
Chevron down icon
The dock runs on standard UAE mains power, 220-240V, using the three-pin Type-G plug fitted across the country. No adapter or transformer is needed. Plug it into a normal wall socket, ideally with a little clear space on either side so the robot can enter and exit.

Who sets it up, and is it hard?
Chevron down icon
You can set it up yourself in about 15 minutes. Unbox the dock, plug it in, fill the clean-water tank, then follow the Dreamehome app to connect Wi-Fi and run the first mapping clean. If you would rather not, our team can deliver and set it up for you in Dubai.

How long does the battery last, and can it clean a whole villa?
Chevron down icon
The 6,400mAh battery gives up to about 220 minutes per charge. For a large villa, the robot cleans until the battery runs low, returns to charge, then carries on where it left off. So it can cover a big home across one run, just not always in one go.

What does it cost to run on DEWA?
Chevron down icon
Very little. A robot vacuum and its dock draw modest power, and DEWA tariffs in Dubai are low, so the electricity cost is small even with daily cleaning. Water use for mopping is minor too. Your main ongoing spend is replacement bags, pads and filters over time.

Is it noisy?
Chevron down icon
During a normal clean it is about as loud as a quiet vacuum, and you can lower the suction in the app for a softer run. The loudest moment is the dock emptying the dust, which lasts only a few seconds. Many owners schedule that for when nobody is home or asleep.

How does it compare to the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra?
Chevron down icon
The L40s Pro Ultra is a strong, lower-priced choice with self-emptying and mop washing, but it lacks the X50's retractable legs and the drop-down LiDAR. If your home has thresholds and low furniture, the X50 handles them better. On a flat, open floor plan, the L40s saves money for similar daily cleaning.

How does it compare to the Roborock Qrevo Edge or Roomba Combo 10 Max?
Chevron down icon
All three are top self-cleaning robots. The Roborock Qrevo Edge focuses on edge mopping, and the Roomba Combo 10 Max is a simpler, dependable pick with iRobot's app. The X50 stands out for climbing obstacles and cleaning under low furniture. The best choice depends on your thresholds, furniture height and budget.

Can it climb stairs?
Chevron down icon
No. Like every robot vacuum, it cannot climb a full staircase between floors. The retractable legs only lift it over thresholds and small steps up to 6cm. In a multi-floor villa, you either carry it upstairs or, more commonly, keep one robot on each floor.

Does it actually clean under sofas and beds?
Chevron down icon
Yes, within limits. It lowers its LiDAR turret so the body drops to about 89mm, letting it slide under furniture with that much clearance. If your sofa or bed sits lower than that, it will not fit. Measure the gap under your furniture if under-bed dust is your main concern.

Who should not buy this robot?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if you live in a small studio or one-level flat with few rooms, where a cheaper robot does the same job. Also skip it if you have no clear floor space for the large dock, or if most of your home is deep, high pile carpet, which suits no robot mop well.
