Buy this for the Ring app and the Alexa integration, and only after accepting that it has no local storage at all. There is no microSD slot. After the trial period ends, viewing or saving any video history requires a Ring Protect subscription, and without one you get live view and notifications but no recorded clips to look back at. That is the single most important fact about this camera and it is the reason we do not put it first in this category for UAE buyers, where a card-recording camera at half the price keeps footage in the property and costs nothing per month. What you get for the money is a genuinely good product otherwise. Setup takes minutes, the app is the most polished here, the battery pack slides out for charging rather than requiring the whole camera to come down, and it works indoors or outdoors on the same mount. Ring quote an operating range topping out around forty eight and a half degrees, which in Dubai is not an academic figure: that is a shaded July afternoon, and a bare sunlit wall exceeds it.
