Dooya is what sits behind a large share of the motorised curtains in Dubai villas, including installations badged as something else. The DT82 series is a rail-mounted motor and track built for high load and long life rather than for easy retrofit, which is why it is specified during fit-outs and renovations rather than clipped on afterwards. It handles curtain weights far past what any battery clip-on motor manages, and it runs quietly under that load. Control is by RF remote out of the box and bridges into Zigbee, Matter, Apple Home, Alexa or Google through a gateway, so it fits into the same scenes and schedules as the rest of the house. This is the specification for a large villa where the curtains are part of the interior design and the client expects them to work unchanged for years.

What to check before you order

Dooya tracks are the base that many other motor brands are fitted to in UAE villa installations, so in a lot of Dubai homes the rail is already Dooya even when the motor is not. It needs mains power at the track and is best installed while the pelmet is open, which makes it a fit-out or renovation specification rather than a retrofit. Priced per window after measurement because track length, split configuration and curtain weight all change the cost.

Why is this quoted rather than priced?

Because the cost is driven by the window rather than the box. Track length, whether the curtain is a single draw or a centre split, the curtain weight and the power run all change the figure. We measure on site and quote the window, which is more honest than publishing a price that would be wrong for most homes.

Can it work with Apple Home, Alexa or Google?

Yes, through a gateway. The motor itself talks RF, and the gateway bridges it into Zigbee or Matter so it appears alongside the rest of your devices in whichever app you use.

Is it worth it over a clip-on motor?

For heavy curtains in a villa, yes. Clip-on motors are excellent for normal domestic curtain weights and poor value for anything beyond that. If the curtains are heavy lined blackout fabric across a wide span, a rail-mounted motor is the option that keeps working.
