Mechanically this is the same motor as the U-rail Curtain 3, built to grip a round curtain pole instead of a boxed track. It suits apartments and rented homes where the curtains hang from a visible rod, which is common in older buildings and in furnished lets. Fitting takes a couple of minutes and leaves no marks, so it comes off cleanly at the end of a tenancy. Push force, battery life, quiet mode and the solar panel accessory are all as per the U-rail version, and the same rule applies about the hub: Bluetooth alone covers control at home, while remote access, voice and automations need a SwitchBot hub. Check the pole diameter against the supported range before ordering, since very thick decorative poles fall outside it.
