Lenovo A6-029 embedded smart lock: a slim 3D face reader and indoor screen with no handle, for managed apartments, serviced units and small offices in Dubai.
The Lenovo A6-029 is an embedded face recognition lock panel for managed apartment buildings, serviced units and small offices in Dubai, not a normal front-door lock. It is a slim two-piece reader panel that sits on the door alongside separate handle hardware, and it suits managed apartment buildings, serviced units, co-living and small offices far better than a family villa. Outside, a 121mm panel carries a 3D face sensor, a keypad and a fingerprint reader. Inside, a larger panel holds a small IPS screen for the video intercom and a 5000mAh rechargeable battery. A radar sensor wakes the face reader as someone approaches. The lock stores up to 100 faces, 100 fingerprints, 100 PIN codes and 100 cards, and also accepts NFC, the app, a temporary code or a key. It connects over Wi-Fi to the Tuya app, which is where an operator issues temporary codes and opens the door remotely. The panels drive a European mortise body, either a mechanical one or a semi-automatic one that locks itself when the door closes, and both follow the common 6068 pattern of 60mm backset and 68mm centres. No handle comes in the box, so the door needs its own lever or pull handle, which we specify with the panel. One safety point matters more than any feature. The catalogue lists the inside release as an electronic button or a key, with no thumb turn. An exit door must open from inside quickly, without a key and without power, so we confirm a mechanical free exit before anything is ordered. If you own a villa and want one complete lock, the A6F is the simpler buy.

This is a product for the people who run buildings, not usually for the people who live in them. A holiday home operator with twenty units, a co-living block in Al Barsha or a staff accommodation building can put the same slim reader on every door and hand out temporary codes from one app. Tenants should not buy it for a rented flat. Apartment entrance doors in Dubai towers are usually fire-rated and belong to the building, so any change needs landlord and building management sign-off, and a lock that only releases from inside by button or key raises obvious questions on an escape route. We review the door, the mortise body and the inside handle together so a mechanical free exit stays in place. Heat is fine with a 70°C rating. Wi-Fi coverage in long corridors is often weak, so we check signal at each door before quoting.
Lenovo in the UAE. Lenovo-branded smart locks and cameras are made by Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) under licence as part of Lenovo's smart-device ecosystem, rather than by Lenovo's computer business. Most of the locks run on the Tuya / Smart Life app, while the cameras use the cam720 app. UAE availability is patchy: a few models are stocked by specialist smart-lock retailers and many are sourced to order, so we confirm the exact model, lock body and lead time before quoting.
