The igloohome Smart Mortise 2+ is a fingerprint and PIN lock for a wooden front door. It suits Dubai holiday-home hosts and busy families who hand out access to guests, maids and drivers. Its real strength is PIN codes that work with no internet at all. You create a code in the igloohome app, make it one-time, limited to set dates, recurring or permanent, and send it. The lock checks that code by itself, so a guest still gets in when the Wi-Fi is down. Airbnb hosts can link their listing calendar so every booking gets its own code. The other ways in are fingerprint (up to 100), RFID tags (up to 100), a Bluetooth key on the phone and five backup keys. Eight AA batteries last up to 18 months, and a 9V battery held to the contacts wakes a flat lock. Remote unlocking and live logs need the igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge, sold separately for about AED 349. This lock replaces the whole lock set on a wooden door 40 to 70 mm thick, hung left or right. We check the door before ordering, because the lock case may not match the old pocket. It has no weather rating and is rated to 55°C, so keep it off doors in full sun. Skip it if your door is metal or glass, if you want Apple Home or Matter, or if your tower's fire door must keep certified hardware.

The Mortise 2+ is made for wooden doors 40 to 70 mm thick, which covers most Dubai apartment doors and many villa main doors. igloohome does not list metal, steel or glass doors, so we do not fit it on those. It replaces the full lock set, including the lock case inside the door, so we measure the existing pocket and handle position first. The plates are 354 mm tall and cover most old holes. In towers, the apartment entrance is usually a fire-rated door. This lock carries no stated fire rating, so ask building management before changing it. Tenants need the landlord's written approval, and should keep the original lock to refit later. The lock has no IP rating and is rated to 55°C, so it belongs on a shaded porch or corridor door, never a door that faces afternoon sun or blowing sand. It runs on batteries, so power cuts do not affect it.
