Lenovo L1 sliding door fingerprint lock: fingerprint, code, card and app entry on aluminium kitchen, pool and garden doors in Dubai villas, with no face camera.
The Lenovo L1 is the base edition of the aluminium door smart lock range: fingerprint, code, card and app entry for sliding, balcony and shopfront doors with no face camera, suited to a Dubai villa's kitchen, pool and garden doors. It makes sense when you want keyless access on an aluminium door and the hands free extras of the L1F are not worth paying for. Physically it matches the L1F. A slim 450mm outside panel carries the fingerprint reader, keypad and card reader, a 400mm inside unit 42mm deep holds the turn knob, and the lock body fits inside the aluminium profile with a C-grade key cylinder for backup. The 3,200mAh battery is rechargeable, and the Tuya app adds remote unlocking, alarm alerts and timed codes for visitors. It is sealed to IP67, and the catalogue gives an operating range of -25 to 70 C. Fit is the part to get right. No thickness range is published for the L1 itself; the L1F, which uses the same panels, is listed for profiles 30 to 100mm thick, so we measure yours against that. The catalogue gives lock body sizes of 3585, 2885 and 4085, and we match your existing body before anything is ordered. The drawbacks: no shop in the UAE or elsewhere sells this exact model, so it is sourced to order and the wait is longer. It holds only 20 PIN codes, and voice assistants are not listed.

The L1 suits the aluminium doors in a Dubai home that get heavy use but do not need a camera: the kitchen door to the back yard that the maid and driver use all day, a pool house door, or a townhouse garden door. Each person gets a fingerprint or card that can be deleted the day they leave, which beats changing locks every time staff change. Small shops in community centres can put it on an aluminium back door for deliveries, with cards for staff. In a holiday home, temporary codes let guests in, but keep the 20 code limit in mind. Rented villas and apartments need the landlord's consent, and towers need building management approval. A DEWA cut does not affect a battery-run lock. For a west-facing door, note that a UAE listing for the L1F quotes 60 C rather than 70 C, so some shade is wise.
Lenovo in the UAE. Lenovo-branded smart locks and cameras are made by Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) under licence as part of Lenovo's smart-device ecosystem, rather than by Lenovo's computer business. Most of the locks run on the Tuya / Smart Life app, while the cameras use the cam720 app. UAE availability is patchy: a few models are stocked by specialist smart-lock retailers and many are sourced to order, so we confirm the exact model, lock body and lead time before quoting.
