Lenovo L1F sliding door smart lock, sold in the UAE: 3D face, fingerprint, code and card entry for aluminium balcony and garden doors with 30 to 100mm profiles.
The L1F is the Lenovo aluminium door lock most Dubai buyers should look at first: it brings 3D face entry to sliding, balcony and shopfront doors, and it is sold in the UAE from AED 1,850. It fits aluminium profiles 30 to 100mm thick. On the outside, a slim 450mm panel holds the face camera, a fingerprint reader, a keypad and a card reader. A motion sensor wakes the camera as you approach, so you can walk up with shopping bags and the lock releases once it recognises you. Inside sits a 400mm unit, 42mm deep, with a turn knob, while the lock body itself fits within the aluminium profile. A C-grade key cylinder is the mechanical backup, and a 3,200mAh rechargeable battery runs the electronics. The Tuya / Smart Life app gives remote unlocking, alarm alerts and timed visitor codes. IP67 sealing keeps dust out, which counts on a terrace door. Two details need checking before you buy. Sources disagree on the operating temperature: the catalogue says up to 70 C, a UAE listing says 60 C. Plan on the lower figure and avoid a door in full afternoon sun. They also list different lock body sizes, so we match your door's existing body before ordering. The lock stores only 20 PIN codes, so cards and fingerprints do most of the work.

Villa garden and pool doors are where the L1F does its best work in Dubai. Children coming in from the pool, a gardener, or a parent with full hands can all get in without keys, and the face camera means nobody stands punching in a code in the heat. Townhouse terraces and ground floor apartments with garden access suit it for the same reason. On an upper-floor apartment balcony nobody arrives from outside, so the money is better spent on the front door. Aluminium shopfronts in community malls are another good match, with cards for staff. Tenants need the landlord's consent, and tower residents need building management approval for any balcony door work. A DEWA cut does not stop it, as it runs on its own battery. Check the Wi-Fi at the garden door, since villa routers usually sit deep inside the house.
Lenovo in the UAE. Lenovo-branded smart locks and cameras are made by Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) under licence as part of Lenovo's smart-device ecosystem, rather than by Lenovo's computer business. Most of the locks run on the Tuya / Smart Life app, while the cameras use the cam720 app. UAE availability is patchy: a few models are stocked by specialist smart-lock retailers and many are sourced to order, so we confirm the exact model, lock body and lead time before quoting.
