The Veno Plus is the lock for a household that wants to open the door without touching anything and see who called while they were out. A palm held near the reader is enough: infrared maps the vein pattern in the hand rather than reading a fingertip, so it works with wet, dusty or gloved-off hands and it works from a few centimetres away rather than requiring contact. A 2K video doorbell is built into the same plate, so a caller pressing the bell puts a picture and a two-way call on your phone, and the entry log has a clip attached to it. That combination replaces two devices with one on doors where there is no room or no wiring for a separate bell. On the biometrics, be realistic. Palm vein reading is convenient and hard to copy, since you do not leave palm vein patterns on things you touch, but it is a consumer biometric and not an absolute. We set it up alongside a PIN rather than as the only way in. Wi-Fi at the door is the thing to verify before ordering, because the camera is useless on a weak signal.

Contactless entry suits Dubai for reasons beyond hygiene. Hands here are either sweating from the heat or carrying a fine layer of sand, and both defeat a surface fingerprint sensor while neither affects a palm vein read. The built-in doorbell earns its place on villa and townhouse entrances where there is no bell wiring and no appetite for another device screwed to the door frame. Check Wi-Fi strength at the door position rather than in the hallway before ordering, because villa entrances sit behind thick blockwork and heavy timber, and a camera that keeps dropping off the network is worse than no camera. Fitting is a full replacement, so this is a door you own. Be deliberate about what the camera covers, particularly where the view takes in a shared path or a neighbour's approach.
Lockin in the UAE. Sold through UAE smart home retail. Its palm-vein and finger-vein locks read blood-vessel patterns rather than a fingerprint surface, which is a class of lock most brands here do not offer.
