The SwitchBot Keypad Touch is an add-on pad that gives a SwitchBot retrofit lock keyless entry. It is not a lock on its own. You need a SwitchBot Lock, Lock Pro, or Lock Ultra fitted on your door first, then this pad mounts on the wall or frame next to it and tells the lock to open. You can get in four ways: a fingerprint, a 6 to 12 digit PIN, a SwitchBot NFC card, or the SwitchBot app on your phone. The fingerprint reader holds up to 90 prints and uses a bank-grade sensor, so it reads fast even with slightly damp or dusty fingers. You can also set temporary or one-time codes, which suits a maid, a delivery, or a short-stay guest. It fits most Dubai homes because the lock behind it is a retrofit type. That lock sits on the inside of your existing door and keeps your key and cylinder, so tenants can add it without changing the hardware the landlord owns. The pad runs on two CR123A batteries (included) for around two years, so a DEWA power cut does not lock you out. Two honest limits. First, the pad talks to the lock over Bluetooth at close range, so for phone alerts, remote unlocking, and Alexa or Google you also need a SwitchBot Hub. Second, the whole system only works with SwitchBot locks, not other brands. If you already run SwitchBot, this is the cheapest way to add fingerprint and PIN entry.

Most Dubai front doors are solid timber or metal fire doors, and the SwitchBot Lock behind this pad fits the thumb-turn on the inside, so your door stays as it is. That matters for the roughly seven in ten residents who rent, since nothing on the landlord's side changes and you can take the kit with you when you move. Heat is the real test here. The pad is IP65 and rated to 66C, but a metal door in full Dubai sun can still get very hot, so mount it in shade or under a porch where you can. Fingerprints read best when hands are dry, so wipe off sweat in summer. Power is simple. It uses two CR123A batteries, not mains, so DEWA cuts do not matter. Wi-Fi only comes in if you add a SwitchBot Hub for remote access, so make sure your router reaches the front door.
