Overview

What it is and where it fits

The cheapest camera in this catalogue worth fitting, and the one to start with for an indoor view. It records to a microSD card, so there is no monthly fee and the footage stays inside the property. The motor is what makes it good value: 360 degrees of pan and a wide vertical tilt means a single unit on a shelf can sweep a whole living room, where a fixed camera at the same price would only see one wall. Resolution is 1080p, which is enough to see what happened and who moved, and not enough to read a plate through a window. Night vision is infrared, so images after dark are black and white out to roughly ten metres. Two-way audio works well enough to speak to a housekeeper or tell a delivery driver where to leave a parcel. The card slot takes up to 256GB and the camera loops over the oldest footage, which for most homes means a week or two of continuous history with no subscription at all. EZVIZ CloudPlay exists as an optional extra rather than a requirement. Indoor only: it carries no weather rating and belongs nowhere near a balcony.

  • Records to its own memory card with no monthly fee
  • One camera covers a full room instead of one corner of it
  • Speak through it to a housekeeper or a delivery at the door
  • Cheap enough to put one in a store room and one in a hallway

What to check before you order

This is the camera most Dubai apartment owners should try first, because it costs less than a month of most cloud plans and answers the question people actually have: what happened in my flat while I was out. Local recording matters here for a second reason beyond cost. Footage on a card in your own home is not sitting on a server under someone else's terms, and clients who are uneasy about cameras inside a bedroom corridor are usually fine once that is clear. Do not put it on a balcony or in a covered car port. It has no IP rating, and summer humidity plus fine dust will finish an unsealed camera within a season. Point it at your own doorway and your own rooms. A camera aimed through a window into a neighbour's garden or across a shared corridor creates a real problem in a UAE building, and privacy law here treats recording other people seriously.

Questions about the EZVIZ C6N Indoor Pan/Tilt Camera (1080p)

Do I have to pay a subscription to use it?
Chevron down icon
No. Buy a microSD card once and the camera records to it, loops over the oldest footage and gives you live view and playback in the app for nothing further. EZVIZ CloudPlay is an optional add-on if you want clips held off-site as well. Most homes never turn it on.

Can I use it outside if it is under a shaded balcony?
Chevron down icon
No, and this is worth being firm about. It carries no weather rating at all. Dust ingress and coastal humidity kill unsealed cameras here quickly, and an enclosed balcony in July gets far hotter than the room behind it. If you want a covered outdoor view, the EZVIZ H8C or the IMOU Bullet 2 are built for it and cost little more.

Will 1080p be enough?
Chevron down icon
For an indoor room, generally yes. You will see people, movement and where things were left. What 1080p will not do is give you a usable face at the far end of a large villa majlis or a readable number plate through glass. If you want detail at distance, the resolution to look at is the 4MP Hikvision PoE bullet or the Aqara G5 Pro outdoors.
