A different class of product from everything else in this file, and the right answer for a villa owner who wants proper coverage rather than a few Wi-Fi cameras. It has no wireless radio and no standalone app experience: one Cat6 cable carries both power and video back to a PoE switch or an NVR, and that recorder holds continuous footage rather than motion clips. There is no subscription, no battery and no dependence on the Wi-Fi holding up in the far corner of the plot. The sensor is 4MP, a genuine step above the 1080p cameras here, and that resolution is what lets you crop into a face at a gate or read a plate on a driveway. Smart Hybrid Light switches between infrared and white light for full-colour night footage when something is detected. The housing is IP67 and the operating range runs to sixty degrees. Understand the commitment before choosing it. This needs cable runs, a recorder, a location for that recorder and someone to configure it. In a villa at first fix or during a renovation, it is the correct decision. In a rented apartment it is the wrong product entirely.

This is the villa answer, and it should be planned at first fix or during a renovation when cable routes are open. Retrofitting Cat6 through a finished Dubai villa means surface trunking or chasing plaster, which is doable and not cheap. Site the recorder somewhere ventilated and cool: an unventilated store cupboard in a UAE villa runs hot enough to shorten the life of a hard drive, and the drive is the part of a CCTV system that fails first here. The camera itself is rated to sixty degrees and sealed to IP67, so it copes with an exposed position better than any Wi-Fi camera in this file, but shade under a soffit still buys you years. Continuous local recording is also the answer to the subscription question: nothing leaves the property and nothing renews annually. A homeowner recording their own plot is outside SIRA's scope. Anything monitored, commercial or covering shared areas is not, and that needs approved equipment and a licensed installer.
Hikvision in the UAE. The dominant CCTV brand in the Dubai trade, with deep distributor and installer support. Its consumer line suits villas wanting wired PoE cameras on an NVR rather than cloud cameras.
