The most capable sensor in this category and the one to specify for a large open-plan room. Like the FP1E it uses millimetre wave radar to detect a stationary person, so lights hold while people sit. What it adds is zoning: you draw regions in the app and each one reports independently, which lets a single sensor run the seating area, the dining table and the entrance as separate triggers. It tracks several people at once and reports roughly where they are within the covered area. It connects over Wi-Fi rather than Zigbee, so no Aqara hub is needed, and it appears natively in Apple Home, Alexa and Google. Power is continuous USB-C, same as the FP1E. Two honest caveats. Setup takes longer than any other sensor here, because drawing zones and calibrating edges is a job you do in the room with the app open, not something that configures itself. And being Wi-Fi rather than Thread, it puts another device on your 2.4GHz network and depends on it. In a villa living room or a large majlis, the zoning is worth both. In a small bedroom it is over-specified and the FP1E does the job.

Zoning lets the seating area behave differently from the dining end. Budget real time for commissioning: a good FP2 install is an hour of drawing zones and walking the room, and a rushed one produces false presence that the client will notice within days. It needs constant USB power and a solid 2.4GHz signal at the mounting point, so check coverage in that corner before committing the cable route. Radar carries through gypsum partitions, so exclude the zone nearest a shared stud wall.
