The Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit (2nd Generation) is a do-it-yourself home security system from Ring, part of Amazon. The box holds five parts: a Base Station that works as the hub and siren, a Keypad for arming and disarming, one Contact Sensor for a door or window, one Motion Detector, and a Range Extender that pushes the signal further across your home. Setup needs no tools and no electrician. You plug in the Base Station, connect it to your router by Wi-Fi or Ethernet, add the parts in the Ring app on your phone, then place the sensors. Most people finish in under an hour. The sensors talk to the Base Station over Z-Wave, a low-power wireless mesh, so they run on small batteries with no wiring. The Keypad and Base Station both keep a battery backup inside, so a short DEWA power cut will not switch your alarm off. It fits apartments and villas alike. Renters like that nothing is drilled into the structure and the kit moves with them. Owners often start here, then add more Ring sensors and cameras later, all in one app. Honest limits: it works with Alexa but not Apple Home or Google Home. Cellular backup, professional monitoring, and remote alarm calls need a paid Ring Protect plan. The base kit on its own is self-monitored, so alerts come to your phone, not to a call centre.

A few things matter for Dubai homes. All the parts run on 220-240V through the standard Type-G three-pin socket used across the UAE, so the Base Station, Keypad, and Range Extender plug straight in with no travel adapter. Wi-Fi reach is the main thing to plan for. In a large villa over two or three floors, the router signal can drop before it reaches a far door, so use the included Range Extender and keep the Base Station near the middle of the home. Apartments rarely have this problem. Heat and dust are gentle on these parts because they sit indoors in air-conditioned rooms, not on an outdoor wall. Keep the Motion Detector out of direct sun from a window to avoid false triggers. On warranty, the kit carries a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty. Buy the UAE version so you get local support and a hub set for this region, not an imported EU unit that may refuse to connect.
Ring in the UAE. Sold directly through Amazon.ae. Ring has no local support office in the UAE, so treat it as self-supported: excellent hardware, but a fault is a shipping question rather than a service call.
