The BroadLink RM4 Pro is a budget universal remote hub for Dubai rooms where you want the split AC, TV, satellite box and RF curtain motor in one app and on Alexa, without paying for a dedicated AC controller in every room. It sits on a shelf, sends infrared in all directions up to about 8 metres, and sends 433MHz radio signals up to about 50 metres for fixed-code curtain motors, fans and switches. For the AC it uses BroadLink's cloud templates or learns your handheld remote, so any wall-mounted split with an infrared remote works. It does not control chilled-water fan coil units run by wired wall thermostats, which most district-cooled towers have, and it cannot reach ducted or VRF systems on wired controllers. There is no room sensor inside. Add the HTS2 USB sensor cable if you want temperature-based automations, and note that the power adapter is not in the box. Compared with the Sensibo Air or tado, it is far cheaper and handles more devices, but the AC side is simpler. It sends commands blindly, has no Climate React style comfort control and no Apple Home support. Integrators like it because Home Assistant supports it locally. Choose it for a majlis or living room full of remotes. Choose Sensibo or tado for a bedroom where holding a steady temperature matters most.

Fit it where the remotes already work: rooms with wall-mounted splits and handheld infrared remotes, which is most villas and older apartments. If your apartment has a wired thermostat on the wall and chilled water from Empower or Emicool, the fan coil has no infrared receiver and this will not control it. The same applies to ducted and VRF units on wired panels. There is no wall adapter in the box, so use any UK 5V 1A USB charger, and keep it indoors, as BroadLink rates it only to 50°C. In a majlis with two splits in the same room, one RM4 Pro can often reach both units, which halves the cost. Its 433MHz radio learns fixed-code curtain motors, but most villa gate and garage remotes use rolling codes and will not copy. Tenants can use it freely, as nothing is wired.
