Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Daikin BRP069B45 is a small Wi-Fi adapter that puts one compatible Daikin wall split on your phone through the free Onecta app. It suits Dubai owners of the right European-range Daikin models who want app, Alexa or Google control without an infrared gadget on the wall. It is not a universal AC controller. A technician plugs it into the S21 socket on the indoor unit's circuit board with the supplied wire harness. It sits inside the unit and takes 14V power from the AC, so there is no plug or battery. Once it joins your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Onecta can switch the unit on and off, set mode, temperature and fan speed, run weekly schedules and show energy use on supported models. Onecta is on the UAE App Store in English and Arabic, and Daikin Middle East lists this adapter. Home Assistant can also read it locally. The catch is compatibility. Daikin's list for this adapter covers the FTX-K and FTX-KV, FTX-KM, FTXP-K and FTXP-L, FTXTP-K and FTXF-A indoor units, plus their ATX versions. Many Daikin splits in UAE homes, such as the FTKF range, are not on it, and newer Perfera and Emura units already have Wi-Fi built in. It does nothing for VRV, ducted units, other brands or chilled-water fan coils in towers. The only UAE listing we found is an imported unit on Amazon.ae, so read your model plate before you order.

  • Puts a compatible Daikin wall split on your phone with the free Onecta app
  • Wired to the AC, so the app shows the unit's real on, off and mode status
  • Adds Alexa and Google Assistant voice control through Onecta
  • Hides inside the indoor unit and runs off the AC's own power

What to check before you order

Start with the model plate on the side of the indoor unit, not the Daikin badge. This adapter only fits the models on Daikin's list, and many Daikin splits in Dubai villas and apartments are Middle East ranges like the FTKF that it does not support. If your unit is a newer Perfera (FTXM) or Emura, Wi-Fi is already inside and you only need the Onecta app. Tower apartments on Empower, Emicool or Tabreed district cooling usually have chilled-water fan coils on a wired thermostat, which this cannot control. VRV systems and ducted units need different Daikin interfaces or a gateway. The adapter lives inside the cool indoor unit, so summer heat is not a concern, and it restarts with the AC after a DEWA cut. It only uses Wi-Fi channels 1 to 11, so move a router set to channel 12 or 13. Opening the unit is technician work, so tenants should tell the landlord first. The Amazon.ae stock ships from a German seller, so warranty claims go through Amazon, not Daikin's UAE dealers.

Daikin in the UAE. The most common AC brand in Dubai villas, sold and serviced through Daikin Middle East and its authorised dealers. App control runs on Daikin's Onecta app, which is available in the UAE. Many newer Daikin wall splits have Wi-Fi built in, while others need a plug-in adapter, and compatibility depends on the exact indoor unit model, so we check the unit label first.

Questions about the Daikin BRP069B45 Wi-Fi Adapter for Onecta

What is the Daikin BRP069B45?
Chevron down icon
It is Daikin's official Wi-Fi adapter for a group of Daikin wall-mounted split ACs. It plugs into the indoor unit's circuit board and connects the AC to your home Wi-Fi, so you can control it from the Daikin Onecta app, Alexa or Google Assistant. One adapter serves one indoor unit.

Which Daikin air conditioners work with the BRP069B45?
Chevron down icon
Daikin's compatibility list names the FTX-K and FTX-KV, FTXP-K and FTXP-L, FTXTP-K and FTXF-A wall units, plus the matching ATX models. Daikin Middle East's installation guide also covers the FTX-KM in sizes 50, 60 and 71. If your model code is not on these lists, assume it will not work.

How do I check if my Daikin AC is compatible?
Chevron down icon
Look at the sticker on the side of the indoor unit, or send us a photo of it. The model code starts with letters such as FTX, FTXP or FTKF. Match the letters and the final suffix, such as K, KV or L, against Daikin's list. The suffix matters, because the same series name can use different adapters.

Does the BRP069B45 work with Daikin FTKF units sold in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
No. The FTKF range that Daikin UAE sells is not on Daikin's compatibility list for this adapter, and Daikin's FTKF product page does not mention Wi-Fi or Onecta. For an FTKF unit, an infrared controller such as the Sensibo Air or tado Smart AC Control is the practical way to add app control.

My Daikin AC is new. Does it already have Wi-Fi?
Chevron down icon
It might. Daikin lists Wi-Fi built into several newer wall units, including the Perfera FTXM-R, Emura FTXJ-A, Stylish FTXA and Comfora FTXP-N. Daikin Middle East's Perfera FTXM-A page also advertises Onecta control. If your unit has built-in Wi-Fi, skip the adapter and simply download Onecta.

Does the Daikin Onecta app work in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Onecta, published by Daikin Europe, is on the UAE App Store with English and Arabic among its languages, and it was updated in August 2026. Daikin Middle East lists the BRP069B45 as an Onecta adapter on its own website. The app is free and replaced the older Daikin Online Controller app.

How much does the BRP069B45 cost in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
We found it at AED 289 on Amazon.ae in September 2026, including an import fees deposit of about AED 14. It is sold by Moderni GmbH, a German seller, and shipped internationally by Amazon, with delivery in about 9 days to Dubai. We did not find it on noon. Installation is extra.

Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
Chevron down icon
No. Daikin describes the Onecta app as free, and there is no paid plan needed for normal control, schedules or voice assistants. The only costs are the adapter itself, installation if you do not fit it yourself, and your home internet. No hub or bridge is needed either.

Will it control my ducted or concealed Daikin unit?
Chevron down icon
No. Daikin only lists wall-mounted splits for the BRP069B45. Daikin's ducted and ceiling units use other interfaces, such as the BRP069C81 or BRP069B82, and several need a wired remote connected. For villas with ducted Daikin systems, we usually look at those interfaces or a gateway like the Intesis AC to KNX.

Can the BRP069B45 control a Daikin VRV system?
Chevron down icon
No. VRV indoor units are not on its compatibility list. VRV systems in villas and offices are normally controlled through Daikin's central controllers or a building gateway, and Onecta support for VRV uses a different Daikin interface. We would survey the system before recommending anything.

I live in a tower on district cooling. Will this work?
Chevron down icon
Almost certainly not. Most Dubai towers served by Empower, Emicool or Tabreed use chilled-water fan coil units with a wired room thermostat, not Daikin wall splits. This adapter only talks to compatible Daikin split indoor units. For fan coils, the answer is a smart fan coil thermostat approved by your building management.

Does the BRP069B45 work with Alexa and Google Home?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Daikin says Onecta supports voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, covering main functions such as set temperature, operation mode and fan speed. You link your Onecta account inside the Alexa or Google Home app. Features can vary by indoor unit model.

Does it work with Apple Home or Siri?
Chevron down icon
Not directly. Daikin does not list Apple Home or Siri support for Onecta, so the adapter will not appear in the Home app on its own. If Apple Home matters, Home Assistant can bridge the adapter into Apple Home, or an infrared controller like the Sensibo Air supports it out of the box.

Can I use the BRP069B45 with Home Assistant?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Home Assistant's official Daikin integration lists BRP069Bxx adapters as working and names the BRP069B45 as a tested device. It uses local polling, so control runs on your own network. This is our preferred setup for villas with a home server, because it keeps working when the internet is down.

What happens during a DEWA power cut?
Chevron down icon
The adapter takes its power from the indoor unit, so it switches off with the AC and starts again when power returns. It then reconnects to your Wi-Fi by itself once the router is back. Whether the AC resumes cooling depends on the unit's auto-restart function, which most Daikin splits have.

What happens if the internet goes down?
Chevron down icon
Remote control from outside the home stops, and Alexa and Google commands fail, because they go through the cloud. Daikin says Onecta can also work over the local network. The normal Daikin remote always works, and a Home Assistant setup keeps local control running without internet.

What Wi-Fi does the adapter need?
Chevron down icon
It needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, using 802.11b, g or n. According to Daikin's manual it only uses channels 1 to 11, so a router fixed on channel 12 or 13 will not be found. It does not use 5GHz. Place a mesh node near the AC if the indoor unit is far from the router.

How is it installed and how long does it take?
Chevron down icon
The power is switched off, the front panel is opened, and the adapter's harness plugs into the S21 connector on the indoor unit board. The adapter is fixed inside the unit, then paired with Onecta. Allow about 30 to 45 minutes per unit. Our technicians fit it and set up the app.

Can a tenant install the BRP069B45?
Chevron down icon
Technically yes, since no walls are drilled and the adapter can be removed later. But it means opening the landlord's AC unit, and some tenancy and maintenance contracts do not allow that. Ask your landlord or AC maintenance company first, and keep the adapter when you move out.

Will Dubai's 45°C summer affect the adapter?
Chevron down icon
Not really. The adapter sits inside the indoor unit, in an air-conditioned room, not outside. Daikin's manual says to keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat or steam, which the inside of a wall split already achieves. The outdoor unit takes the heat, not the adapter.

Can I still use the normal Daikin remote?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The infrared handheld remote keeps working as before. Because the adapter is wired to the unit, changes you make with the remote also show up in the app. That is an advantage over infrared controllers, which can lose track of the AC state when someone uses the remote.

How many ACs can one adapter control?
Chevron down icon
One. Each compatible indoor unit needs its own BRP069B45, including each indoor unit on a multi-split system. The Onecta app can then group them, and Daikin says it can control up to 50 air conditioning units from one account. Budget one adapter per room you want online.

What warranty and support do I get in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
The Amazon.ae stock is an imported European unit from a German seller, so returns and warranty claims go through Amazon and the seller. Do not expect Daikin's UAE dealer network to replace it. When we install it, we check it works on the day and handle the app setup.

How does the BRP069B45 compare with the Sensibo Air?
Chevron down icon
The BRP069B45 is cheaper and wired into the Daikin, so it reads the real unit status, but it only fits a short list of Daikin models. The Sensibo Air works with almost any AC that has an infrared remote, including FTKF units, and adds Apple Home and SmartThings. For most Dubai Daikin owners, Sensibo fits more units.

How does it compare with tado Smart AC Control?
Chevron down icon
Both put an AC on your phone. tado uses infrared, so it works with most split ACs of any brand and supports Apple Home, but some automation features sit behind a paid plan. The BRP069B45 is Daikin's own wired adapter with a free app, but it only suits compatible Daikin units.

Is the BRP069B45 secure?
Chevron down icon
It connects to Daikin's cloud through your Wi-Fi and a Daikin account. Use a strong Wi-Fi password, a unique Onecta password, and consider a separate network for smart devices. Anyone with access to your Onecta account can change the AC, so do not share login details with staff.

Does it show how much electricity my AC uses?
Chevron down icon
On supported models, yes. Daikin lists daily, weekly and yearly energy monitoring for the BRP069B45, plus econo mode and power limitation. Onecta notes that energy data is only available for some indoor units, so check your model in the app. It is an estimate, not a DEWA meter reading.

What is the difference between the BRP069B45 and BRP069B41 or B42?
Chevron down icon
They are the same adapter family for different Daikin models. The B41 and B45 fit inside the indoor unit, while the B42, B43 and B44 mount outside it on a holder. The B41 suits FTXM-M units and the B42 suits FTXZ-N and some FTXS-K units. Buy the version your model needs.

Who should not buy the BRP069B45?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if your Daikin is an FTKF or any model not on Daikin's list, if your AC has Wi-Fi built in, if you have VRV, ducted or chilled-water fan coils, or if your ACs are another brand. It also suits you poorly if you want native Apple Home or local UAE warranty.

Does the adapter need any maintenance?
Chevron down icon
Very little. There is no battery to change and no filter. If the app shows the unit offline, check the RUN light, restart the AC from the isolator, and confirm your router is still on 2.4GHz. When you change your Wi-Fi name or password, press SETUP and reconnect it in Onecta.
