A clip-on solar panel that keeps a SwitchBot Curtain or Curtain 2 motor charged from window light, ideal for owners who are tired of taking the motor down to recharge it.
The SwitchBot Solar Panel Charger is a small add-on for people who already own a SwitchBot Curtain or Curtain 2 motor. It is not a smart device on its own. It has no app, no Wi-Fi and no hub. It is a passive solar panel that clips near your window and feeds a slow trickle of power into the curtain motor's built-in battery through a cable. The idea is simple. Your curtain keeps topping itself up from daylight, so you take it down to recharge far less often, or almost never. The panel is IPX6 waterproof ABS, so it copes with a sunny window sill and the odd bit of condensation. Solar conversion runs up to 20%. The cable extends, which matters in practice, you can sit the panel in the brightest part of the glass while the motor stays in shade at the rail. Built-in overcharge and deep-discharge protection looks after the battery, and an LED shows charge status. For a Dubai home this suits villa and apartment windows that get real, direct sun for a few hours a day. Bright rooms, south or west facing, do best. Be clear on the limits. It only fits the original SwitchBot Curtain and Curtain 2 (U-rail, I-rail and Rod). It does NOT fit Curtain 3, which needs a different, newer panel. It is a trickle charger, not a fast one, so heavily shaded or north facing windows may still need a manual charge now and then.

Dubai homes get long, strong sun, which is exactly what this charger wants. A window that faces south or west and catches a few hours of direct light will keep the motor's battery healthy for most of the year. The IPX6 shell handles heat and the odd bit of window condensation from aggressive AC. Because the panel clips on and can be stuck down with the supplied adhesive, tenants can fit it without drilling, so there is nothing to explain to a landlord and nothing to make good when you move out. Reflective or heavily tinted glazing, common in new towers, cuts the light that reaches the panel, so a shaded apartment window will charge slower than an open villa window. It runs on the curtain motor's own battery, not DEWA mains, so a power cut does not affect it. Buy from us with local warranty support in the UAE, no overseas returns.
