The U100 is the Aqara lock to buy if the household lives on iPhones. Apple Home Key is its defining feature: a door credential sits in the Apple Wallet, and holding a phone or an Apple Watch near the reader opens the door without waking the screen or opening an app. That is the fastest credential in this category, and it is the one people keep using after the novelty of the others wears off. Underneath it is a full deadbolt replacement with a fingerprint reader, a keypad, NFC cards and a mechanical key, so anyone in the house without an iPhone still has a method that suits them. The keypad supports temporary and scheduled codes, which is how contractors and cleaners get in without anybody sharing a household PIN. It sits above the U50 and the U300 on price because of Home Key rather than because of a stronger lock body. Fitting replaces the existing hardware, so this is a door you own. Apple Watch entry is the reason this lock does well in Dubai, and the reason is heat rather than fashion: in July nobody wants to hold a hot phone or press a sweaty fingertip onto a reader, and a wrist held near the plate works either way. It replaces the existing lock, so it suits owned villas and owned apartments, while tenants should be looking at the U200 Kit or the SwitchBot Lock Ultra. Villa door thickness and backset are checked before ordering, since a Dubai main door is often thicker than the fittings assume. Staff access works cleanly here: a card or a scheduled PIN per person, revoked the day the arrangement ends, with the log showing arrival times without a conversation about it.
