This is the Aqara lock for a tenant. The U200 fits on the inside face and drives the existing deadbolt, leaving the cylinder and every key in the household working exactly as before, which turns a landlord conversation from a refusal into a formality. The kit pairs it with a keypad that mounts outside the door, so PIN and fingerprint entry are available without cutting anything into the door itself. Matter over Thread carries it into Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings, and Apple Home Key works from the keypad, so a phone or watch held against it opens the door. Auto-lock closes the deadbolt behind you on a timer, which quietly fixes the most common security failure in any home, a door left on the latch. Two checks before ordering. The existing deadbolt must turn freely from inside, because a lock that has dropped on its hinges or binds in the frame will defeat the motor and the honest fix is the door rather than the lock. And the keypad needs a flat face beside or on the door to mount to, which most apartment entrances have and some heavily moulded villa doors do not.

Tenure is the thing that decides which lock you can actually buy here, and with roughly 70% of UAE residents renting, the retrofit shelf is where most people should be looking.
