Bosch ID30 smart lock: a slim flat-panel fingerprint lever lock with Smart Life app control, in stock in the UAE at AED 1,450, for shaded Dubai main doors.
The Bosch ID30 is a slim flat-panel fingerprint smart lock, the entry model in the Bosch ID lever range, and it suits a shaded villa or apartment main door in Dubai where you want fingerprint entry and app control without paying for extras. It is a flat aluminium panel with a hidden keyhole. You open it with a fingerprint, a six-digit PIN, an IC card, the Smart Life app or the backup key, and it stores up to 100 each of fingerprints, PINs and cards. The lock joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi by itself, so no hub is needed, and the app lets you unlock from your phone. Four AA batteries last roughly six to twelve months, and a USB-C port on the outside panel lets a power bank wake a flat lock. This is not a German Bosch Smart Home product. Bosch-branded locks like this one come from Bosch's smart lock business in China, and the UAE distributor is the official UAE distributor. The one thing to confirm first is a door that can take its 6068 mortise lock body. Most Dubai doors carry a European mortise with different spacing, so we check the door edge before you order. The honest limits: the rated ceiling is 55°C, so a sunny door is out. Its spec sheet also lists no temporary codes, child lock or tamper alarm, which its ID40 and ID60C siblings do list. There is no face unlock, no camera and no confirmed voice assistant support.

Two things decide whether the ID30 suits your home: the door and the sun. The lock brings its own 6068 mortise body, which spaces the handle and cylinder differently from the European mortise found in most Dubai villas and apartments. Swapping usually means re-routing the door edge and drilling new holes, so we measure before you order. That work is a problem on a fire-rated tower entrance door unless building management agrees in writing, and tenants need the landlord's written consent too. Bosch rates the ID30 to 55°C. In July, the panel on a west-facing villa door can get hotter than that, so we only suggest it for doors under a canopy, off an indoor corridor or facing north. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, and signal strength at the main door matters more than people expect. During a DEWA cut the lock keeps running on its own batteries, and only the app goes quiet until the router is back.
Bosch in the UAE. Bosch-branded digital locks come from Bosch's smart-lock business in China, not from Bosch's appliance or power-tool divisions. In the UAE they are handled by an official distributor and sold through specialist retail and Amazon.ae, and warranty support runs through that distributor rather than a Bosch-run service centre. Heat ratings vary by model: the lever locks are rated to 55°C, so we recommend them for shaded or covered doors, while several of the face-recognition models are rated higher.
