Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Lenovo E6 WiFi is a Wi-Fi fingerprint smart lock, the middle model of the E6 lever family, and the one to buy if you want app control and guest codes on a Dubai villa or holiday home door without paying for a camera. It is also the only E6 stocked in the UAE. It shares its aluminium body with the E6 Pro and the plain E6. Entry is by fingerprint on the handle, PIN, IC card, app or mechanical key, with memory for 100 fingerprints, 100 cards and 50 PINs (one of them the admin code). Period, one-time and temporary codes let you give a cleaner set hours or a holiday home guest a code for their stay. Over Wi-Fi it links to the Smart Life app on the Tuya platform, with no hub, and you can unlock from anywhere. The keypad has a bell key tied to the app intercom, but there is no camera. Power comes from a 4200 mAh rechargeable pack, backed by a USB-C emergency socket. On the door side, it suits doors 30 to 100 mm thick and needs room for a 6068 mechanical mortise, so we measure your existing lock before ordering. Its catalogue ratings, IP54 and a 70°C ceiling, suit a hot entrance. The limits: no face unlock, no video, no confirmed voice assistant support, and a battery that is recharged, not swapped.

  • Remote unlocking from the Smart Life app over Wi-Fi, no hub
  • One-time, period and temporary guest codes for staff and short stays
  • Fingerprint on the handle, plus PIN, card and mechanical key
  • Rated to 70°C and IP54, with a rechargeable battery and USB-C backup

What to check before you order

Of the three E6 models, this is the one already in the UAE, so the lead time is short and the supply price is published. It suits holiday home owners who set a code before each guest arrives, and families who want to open the door for a driver or a delivery while at work. The 70°C and IP54 ratings give real headroom on a hot, dusty villa entrance, well past the 55°C ceiling of many lever locks, though a shaded door still keeps the battery healthier. The lock body is a 6068 mechanical mortise. If your door carries a European mortise with different spacing, the edge needs adjusting, which we check before ordering. Towers are different: a fire-rated entrance door cannot be altered without building management agreeing, and a tenant also needs the landlord's written yes. Wi-Fi has to reach the door for remote unlocking. During a DEWA cut the lock carries on with its battery while the app waits for the router.

Lenovo in the UAE. Lenovo-branded smart locks and cameras are made by Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) under licence as part of Lenovo's smart-device ecosystem, rather than by Lenovo's computer business. Most of the locks run on the Tuya / Smart Life app, while the cameras use the cam720 app. UAE availability is patchy: a few models are stocked by specialist smart-lock retailers and many are sourced to order, so we confirm the exact model, lock body and lead time before quoting.

Questions about the Lenovo E6 WiFi Fingerprint Smart Lock

What is the Lenovo E6 WiFi smart lock?
Chevron down icon
It is a Wi-Fi lever lock that you open by fingerprint (the reader is on the handle), keypad PIN, IC card, phone app or mechanical key. In the E6 family it sits between the E6 Pro, which adds face unlock and a camera, and the plain E6, which has no Wi-Fi or app.

What is the Lenovo E6 WiFi price in Dubai, and where can I buy it?
Chevron down icon
Our supply price for the E6 WiFi is AED 1,250 for the lock. Installation and lead time are confirmed when we quote. Because it is stocked in the UAE, lead time is usually short. Send us a photo of your door edge and current lock so we can check the fit first.

Is the Lenovo E6 WiFi actually made by Lenovo?
Chevron down icon
No. Yunka Intelligent (Shenzhen) builds it and uses the Lenovo name under a licence, while also selling locks under its own Yunka brand. That means support runs through the lock's UAE distribution channel rather than through Lenovo.

Will the Lenovo E6 WiFi fit a typical Dubai door?
Chevron down icon
The UAE listing gives a door range of 30 to 100 mm, wider than many lever locks. The catch is the lock body: a 6068 mechanical mortise (60 mm backset), which often differs from the European mortise already in a Dubai door and can mean re-routing the edge. We measure first and spell out the work.

Does the E6 WiFi suit a villa or an apartment better?
Chevron down icon
It suits both, and the high heat rating makes it a sound choice for a villa entrance that gets some sun. In an apartment tower, building management must agree before the lock body changes, because entrance doors there are often fire-rated. Check Wi-Fi reaches the door in either case.

Can a tenant install the Lenovo E6 WiFi?
Chevron down icon
Yes, if your landlord agrees in writing. Fitting it means taking out the existing lock body and possibly drilling the door, so it is not a change to make quietly. Keep every part of the old lock for when you hand back the keys. Without consent, choose a retrofit lock that needs no door cutting.

Which app does the E6 WiFi use, and can I unlock it remotely?
Chevron down icon
Smart Life, built on the Tuya platform and usable in the UAE, is the app for this lock. Once the lock is on your Wi-Fi, you can unlock it from anywhere and manage access for staff and guests. Fingerprint, PIN, card and key keep working at the door without the app.

Does the Lenovo E6 WiFi have a camera?
Chevron down icon
No. There is no camera on this model. The keypad has a bell key linked to the app intercom, but you cannot see the visitor. If you want video, choose the E6 Pro, which adds a camera and face unlock, or pair this lock with a separate video doorbell.

Does the Lenovo E6 WiFi work with Alexa or Google Home?
Chevron down icon
Voice control is not listed anywhere for the E6 WiFi, whether Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home. Some Tuya devices link to voice assistants, but that is not confirmed for this lock. Buy it for the Smart Life app and remote unlocking, not for voice control.

Is the Lenovo E6 WiFi a good smart lock for a holiday home in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
Yes, it is the best fit of the three E6 models for that job. You can set a temporary or period code in the app for each stay and unlock remotely if a guest gets stuck. Delete the code after checkout, so the next guest gets a fresh one.

What happens to the E6 WiFi in a DEWA power cut?
Chevron down icon
Very little changes. The lock draws on its internal rechargeable battery, never the mains, so every method at the door carries on as normal. What stops is the online side: remote unlocking waits until the router and internet return.

How does the battery work, and what if it runs flat?
Chevron down icon
A 4200 mAh rechargeable battery powers the lock, so you recharge it instead of buying AAs. A low battery alarm warns you first. Should it die while you are out, a power bank plugged into the USB-C emergency socket revives the lock for a fingerprint or code, and the mechanical key is there as well.

Can the Lenovo E6 WiFi handle Dubai summer heat?
Chevron down icon
Better than many lever locks. Its catalogue range runs from -25°C up to 70°C, with an IP54 seal against dust and splashes, a clear 15 degrees above locks capped at 55°C. A west-facing door is workable, though shade still helps the rechargeable battery last longer between charges and over the years.

How many users can the E6 WiFi store?
Chevron down icon
There is room for 100 fingerprints and 100 IC cards, plus 50 PIN codes, one of which is the admin code. That covers a large household with live-in staff and regular visitors. Enrol two fingers for each person, since sand, cuts or very dry skin can stop one finger reading.

How do I give access to maids, drivers and guests?
Chevron down icon
Give live-in staff a fingerprint or card. Give a part-time cleaner a period code that only works during their hours, and a courier a one-time code. If a driver turns up while you are at work, unlock remotely from the app. Remove anyone who leaves without changing other codes.

How secure is the Lenovo E6 WiFi?
Chevron down icon
It has alarms for a low battery, panel tampering and repeated wrong passwords, and a hidden password feature that lets you type random digits around your code. Multiple verification can demand two methods together. The backup cylinder is C-grade, and a deadlock setting acts as a child lock.

How long does fitting take, and what do you check first?
Chevron down icon
A door that already has a 6068-shaped pocket takes about two hours, and one being converted from another mortise takes more. Our survey looks at door thickness, pocket size, strike plate, fire rating and Wi-Fi signal at the entrance. Once the lock is installed, we link it to Smart Life and add your users.

What warranty comes with the E6 WiFi in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
The UAE seller lists a 12-month warranty on this lock, and we confirm the exact terms at order. Keep the invoice and serial number safe. Tell us about any fault early, since a rechargeable battery or fingerprint issue is easier to sort out within the warranty period.

Lenovo E6 WiFi vs E6 Pro: which should I buy?
Chevron down icon
Pick the E6 Pro if you want face unlock for hands-full arrivals or want to see visitors on a video intercom. It is sourced to order, though. For app control, remote unlocking and guest codes without a camera, the E6 WiFi does the job and is in stock locally.

When is the plain Lenovo E6 a better choice?
Chevron down icon
Choose the plain E6 if you do not want Wi-Fi or an app at all, for example on a staff entrance or for a parent who just needs fingerprint and PIN. It runs on AA batteries but drops remote unlocking, one-time codes and temporary codes, and it is sourced to order.

How does the E6 WiFi compare with the Bosch ID30?
Chevron down icon
Both are lever locks with fingerprint, PIN, card, key and the Smart Life app. The E6 WiFi costs less, is rated to 70°C against the ID30's 55°C, takes doors from 30 mm and lists guest codes. The ID30 runs on AA batteries and has a slimmer flat panel.

Who should not buy the Lenovo E6 WiFi?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if you want face unlock, video or voice control, if Wi-Fi does not reach your main door, or if your tower will not allow the lock body to change. It is also not designed for glass doors, sliding doors or US-style bored doors.

How do I look after the E6 WiFi?
Chevron down icon
A weekly wipe of the handle reader and keypad with a dry microfibre cloth keeps reading quick in dusty months. Avoid water and cleaning sprays on the panel. Top up the battery as soon as the low battery alarm goes off, and leave the mechanical key with someone you trust outside the house.

Does the Lenovo E6 WiFi need a hub?
Chevron down icon
No. The E6 WiFi has Wi-Fi built in and joins your router directly, then links to the Smart Life app, so there is no hub or gateway to buy. Wi-Fi does have to reach the main door for remote unlocking to work, which is one of the things we check during the survey.

Is the Lenovo E6 WiFi waterproof?
Chevron down icon
It is rated IP54 in the catalogue, which means protection from dust and water splashes, not from a hose or standing water. That suits a covered Dubai villa entrance, and it sits alongside the 70°C heat rating. Wipe the handle reader and keypad with a dry microfibre cloth and keep water and cleaning sprays off the panel.
