The eufy C33 is a smart lever handle with a fingerprint reader, keypad and built-in Wi-Fi. It suits internal doors in a Dubai home, like a home office, store room, maid's room or garage door, where the door is drilled or can be drilled for American hardware. It is not a main front door lock. You touch the sensor on the handle, press down and walk in. Family members can also use a PIN, the eufy Security app or the key. It locks itself on a timer, and the app shows who came in and when. Eight AA batteries power it, and it joins 2.4GHz Wi-Fi directly, with no bridge. Alexa and Google Assistant work, Apple Home and Matter do not. Door fit needs care. This lock mounts through a round 54 mm hole drilled across the door, 60 or 70 mm from the edge, with a rectangular latch plate. Most doors in Dubai villas and apartments have European mortise locks or latches instead, where the lock body sits inside a slot in the door edge. eufy says the C33 does not fit mortise locks. So we look at the door first, and on many internal doors the answer is a permanent 54 mm hole. There is no deadbolt, only a spring latch, and the rating is BHMA Grade 3. The C33 is an American lever lock, and most Dubai doors are not drilled for it. It needs a round 54 mm hole through the door and a rectangular latch slot in the edge. Villa and apartment doors here, internal ones included, usually carry European mortise locks or latches set into a pocket in the door edge, and eufy says the C33 does not fit mortise locks. We check the door first. Good candidates are solid internal doors you own, such as a study, store room, maid's room, garage or pantry door, where a permanent 54 mm hole is acceptable. It has a spring latch and no deadbolt, so we do not fit it on a main entrance. Fire-rated doors, including tower apartment entrances, must not be drilled. Tenants need written landlord approval. IP53 means indoor or covered use only. AA batteries drain faster in hot, unconditioned garages, so keep spares.
