The EZVIZ DL03 Pro is a smart rim lock. It mounts as a box on the face of your door, with a matching keep on the frame. It does not replace a cylinder or a deadbolt, so it suits doors that already use a rim-style (night-latch) lock. That setup is common on older apartment and villa doors around Dubai, and it means most people can fit this themselves. You can open the door four ways. A fingerprint (it holds up to 50, saved on the lock itself and not the cloud), a passcode (up to 50 code groups, 6 to 10 digits), a proximity card (two come in the box), or a remote unlock from the EZVIZ app. There is also a temporary code you can hand to a guest or cleaner, valid for up to a year, plus an anti-peeping option so nobody reads your code over your shoulder. It joins your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi directly, so no separate hub is needed. Power is four AA batteries, with a USB-C port on the front for emergency power if they run flat, and the app warns you before that happens. Two honest points. It runs through the EZVIZ app only, so there is no Apple Home, Google or Alexa control. And the maker does not document a mechanical key backup, so plan around codes and the app rather than a spare key.

First, check your door. This is a rim lock, so it fits doors already built for a rim or night-latch lock, not a euro-cylinder or a mortise deadbolt. Plenty of older Dubai apartments and villa side doors use rim locks, so take a quick look before you buy. Renting? Most people in Dubai rent, and a rim lock is one of the easier smart locks to fit and later remove, because it does not cut into the door. Still, ask your landlord or agent first, and keep the original hardware so you can put it back when you move out. Heat matters here. On a west-facing door in July, the panel can get hot by afternoon. Fingerprint reading is usually fine, but sweaty or dusty fingers sometimes miss, so keep a code as backup. Mains here is 220 to 240V, but the lock runs on AA batteries, so a DEWA power cut will not lock you out. Keep spare AAs and a USB-C power bank at home.
