Overview

What it is and where it fits

The EZVIZ DL50FVX is the top mortise smart lock in EZVIZ's range, with two cameras, two rechargeable batteries, 3D face recognition and palm vein. It suits Dubai villa and large apartment owners who want the most complete EZVIZ camera lock and are happy to pay for it. It opens by face, palm vein, fingerprint, PIN, Bluetooth key, temporary code, remote app unlock or mechanical key, and it accepts proximity cards bought separately. The upper camera handles face recognition with a 162 degree view. A second, lower camera watches the doorstep, so parcels and small children show up, and the 4-inch indoor screen shows both views picture-in-picture. EZVIZ uses a larger camera sensor for colour night images, plus radar alerts when someone lingers. Clips save to built-in storage. Power comes from a 5,000mAh main battery with a 2,000mAh backup that takes over when the main one runs low, and there are welcome and night lights at the door. Against the DL50FVS we list, it adds the second camera, palm vein, card support and the backup battery, for roughly AED 2,000 more. The Y3000FVP Plus gives you palm vein and one camera for about half the price. The DL50FVX earns its price only if the lower camera and backup battery matter to you. Honest limits: the front panel is IP52 and rated to 55°C, the 440mm panels need a lot of flat door, and there is no Apple Home support.

  • A second, lower camera sees parcels and children at the door
  • A backup battery takes over when the main battery runs low
  • Opens by face or palm vein, with access cards as an extra
  • Colour night view plus welcome lights at the entrance

What to check before you order

The DL50FVX sold in the UAE is the 6068 version, for doors 40 to 120mm thick. It suits solid villa and apartment doors that already take a 6068 mortise, while a 5085 door needs recutting. The panels are 440mm tall and 74mm wide, the largest in the EZVIZ range, so check there is enough flat door face, especially on panelled or carved villa doors. The front panel is IP52 and rated for -10°C to 55°C, so it belongs under a porch or canopy, never on a door in direct summer sun. EZVIZ also notes strong sunlight can affect face and palm recognition. Test the Wi-Fi at the door first, since two cameras and video calls need a steady 2.4GHz signal. Fire-rated tower doors need building management approval, and tenants need written landlord consent. In a DEWA power cut the lock still opens on battery, but alerts and video calls stop until the router is back.

Questions about the EZVIZ DL50FVX Dual Camera Palm Vein Smart Lock

What is the EZVIZ DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
The DL50FVX is EZVIZ's flagship mortise smart lock. It opens by 3D face, palm vein, fingerprint, PIN, card, phone or key, and adds two cameras, a 4-inch indoor screen, two-way video calls, radar alerts, welcome lights and a main plus backup rechargeable battery. It connects directly to Wi-Fi.

How much does the DL50FVX cost in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
At our last check it was AED 3,499 on Amazon.ae, sold by MENA Smart Life and fulfilled by Amazon, for the 6068 version. That listing includes free installation in Dubai by EZVIZ-authorised technicians. We did not find it on noon or other mainstream UAE electronics retailers.

What does the DL50FVX add over the EZVIZ DL50FVS?
Chevron down icon
The DL50FVS we list has one camera, one 5,000mAh battery, face recognition and fingerprint. The DL50FVX adds palm vein, a second lower camera, a 2,000mAh backup battery, optional proximity cards, colour night imaging and welcome lights, on a taller 440mm panel. It costs roughly AED 2,000 more.

Should I buy the DL50FVX or the Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
Both have face recognition, palm vein, a 4-inch screen and a vertical grab handle. The Y3000FVP Plus has one 150 degree camera and one battery, and costs about half as much. Pick the DL50FVX if you want the lower doorstep camera, the backup battery or card access.

Is the second camera actually useful?
Chevron down icon
It is useful if parcels are left at your door or you want to see small children and pets, which a single high camera often misses. The indoor screen shows both views at once. If deliveries go to a building reception or security desk, you will get less value from it.

How does the dual battery system work?
Chevron down icon
The lock runs on a 5,000mAh main battery. When that runs low, it switches to a 2,000mAh backup battery automatically, so the lock stays online while you recharge the main one. If both run flat, a power bank on the outside USB-C port wakes the lock long enough to get in.

How long does the battery last on the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
EZVIZ does not publish a battery life figure for this model. With two cameras, radar detection, lights and Wi-Fi running, expect to charge more often than on a lock without a camera. The backup battery gives you a buffer, and the app warns you when levels drop.

Can someone who wears a niqab open this lock?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Palm vein recognition reads the veins in an open palm held 15 to 25cm from the sensor, so it works without showing the face. Fingerprint, PIN and cards also work. This makes the DL50FVX and Y3000FVP Plus better fits than face-only camera locks for many Dubai families.

Can children use the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
Face recognition is designed for people between 1.2m and 2m tall. Children below that height can use palm vein, where EZVIZ recommends holding a child's palm about 10cm from the sensor, or a fingerprint or PIN. The lower camera also makes it easier to see small children arriving.

Does the DL50FVX take access cards?
Chevron down icon
Yes, it supports up to 50 proximity card sets, but cards are sold separately rather than included. Cards are handy for maids, drivers and older relatives who prefer something to tap. A lost card can be deleted from the app, which is easier than changing a lock when a key goes missing.

Will the DL50FVX fit my door?
Chevron down icon
It fits solid hinged doors 40 to 120mm thick that take a 6068 mortise lock body. It does not suit glass, sliding or US style round bore doors. The panels are 440mm tall, so carved or panelled doors may not have enough flat space. We check all of this before ordering.

Can a tenant install the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
Only with written landlord approval. It replaces the lock body and handles, and the large panels usually need new fixing holes. At this price, it makes more sense on a door you own. Keep the original lock so it can be refitted if you move.

Do I need a hub or a subscription?
Chevron down icon
No hub is needed, because Wi-Fi is built in. Video clips save to 8GB of storage inside the lock, so a subscription is optional. EZVIZ's cloud plan is worth it only if you want clips kept off the device as well, for example in case the lock is damaged.

Does the DL50FVX work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
Plan on using the EZVIZ app. EZVIZ's specification for the DL50FVX does not list Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home or Matter support. If Apple Home is essential, look at the Aqara U300, which supports Apple Home through Matter but has no camera.

What happens in a power cut or when the internet drops?
Chevron down icon
The lock keeps working on its batteries, and face, palm, fingerprint, PIN and card checks all happen on the device. Remote unlock, phone alerts and video calls stop until your router is back online. The indoor screen still shows both cameras, since it is connected to the lock.

How does the DL50FVX handle a Dubai summer?
Chevron down icon
EZVIZ rates it for -10°C to 55°C with an IP52 front panel. That is fine for a shaded porch or an air-conditioned corridor. A door facing direct afternoon sun can pass 55°C in summer and strong sun affects recognition, so we would not fit it there.

What do the welcome lights do?
Chevron down icon
As someone approaches, a projection light shows the EZVIZ logo on the ground and the doorbell light brightens. At night, a small light helps you find your way in and then fades. They add convenience at a dark villa entrance, but they are extras rather than security features.

How secure is the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
Biometric data is processed and stored on the lock, and EZVIZ says photos, videos and masks cannot fool its 3D face recognition. Five wrong entries lock the keypad for three minutes, a siren sounds if the panel is forced off, and it uses a C-grade cylinder. Door and frame strength still matter.

Does the DL50FVX lock itself automatically?
Chevron down icon
It can lock on a timer after the door is opened, which you set in the EZVIZ app. EZVIZ says locking triggered by the door closing uses its separate T2C Bluetooth door sensor. We set up timed locking at installation so the door is not left unlocked by accident.

Can I see and talk to visitors when I am out?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The EZVIZ app alerts you when someone rings or lingers, and you can open a two-way video call with an optional voice changer, then unlock remotely if you choose. Both camera views can be checked live, so you see the visitor and anything left at the door.

Is the DL50FVX good for a holiday home?
Chevron down icon
It works for a DTCM holiday home if you want to see guest arrivals and parcels. You create temporary codes in the app for each stay and can speak to guests at the door. At this price, most hosts get the same result from a Y3000FVP Plus or DL50FVS.

Who installs the DL50FVX, and how long does it take?
Chevron down icon
The Amazon.ae listing includes free installation in Dubai by EZVIZ-authorised technicians, with a distance fee elsewhere. We also supply and fit it. On a door with a matching 6068 body, allow a few hours including Wi-Fi setup and enrolling faces, palms and fingerprints for the household.

What warranty does the DL50FVX have in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
The Amazon.ae listing shows a one year manufacturer warranty, and says installation by EZVIZ-authorised technicians activates an extended three year warranty. Keep the invoice and installation record. If someone else fits it, confirm in writing which warranty applies before any work starts.

Who should not buy the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if your door is in direct sun, the door face is too small or decorative for a 440mm panel, or you need Apple Home. Renters should not pay this much for a lock they may leave behind. If one camera is enough, the Y3000FVP Plus saves about half.

Contact us
What maintenance does the DL50FVX need?
Chevron down icon
Wipe both camera lenses, the face sensor and the palm sensor with a soft dry cloth, since dust is the main cause of slow recognition. Recharge the main battery when warned, install firmware updates and test the mechanical key every few months. Do not spray liquid onto the panel.
