Overview

What it is and where it fits

The EZVIZ Y3000FVP Plus is a 6068 mortise smart lock that opens by 3D face recognition or palm vein, with a door camera and a 4-inch indoor screen. It suits Dubai villa and apartment owners who want hands-free entry that also works for people who cover their face or have worn fingerprints. Walk up and the lock reads your face in about a second, or hold your palm 15 to 25cm from the sensor. Fingerprint, PIN, Bluetooth key, temporary codes, remote app unlock and a mechanical key are there too. The 150 degree camera shows the doorstep on the indoor screen and in the EZVIZ app, with two-way video calls, infrared night vision and radar alerts when someone lingers. Clips save to built-in storage, so EZVIZ's cloud plan is optional. The outside panel is a full-length vertical grab handle rather than a lever. A 5,000mAh rechargeable battery runs about four months by EZVIZ's figures, measured with Wi-Fi off. In the EZVIZ range, the Y2000FVS and the DL50FVS we list give you face recognition and a camera for less, but no palm vein. The DL50FVX adds a second camera, colour night vision, card support and a backup battery at roughly double the price. For most homes that want palm vein, this is the sensible stop. Honest limits: the front panel is IP52 and rated to 55°C, so shaded doors only. There is no card reader, no Apple Home, and UAE retailers stock the 6068 body only.

  • Hold up your palm to open, with no touch and no face needed
  • Face recognition opens the door as you walk up
  • Wide 150 degree door camera, indoor screen and phone video calls
  • Clips save on the lock, so a cloud plan is optional

What to check before you order

UAE retailers sell the Y3000FVP Plus with a 6068 mortise body for doors 40 to 120mm thick. Many Dubai villa and apartment doors take 6068, but check before ordering, because a 5085 door needs recutting. The outside panel is 400mm tall and about 53mm deep, so it sticks out further than a normal handle. Check it clears a wall, a grille or a second door in a tight lobby. The front panel is only IP52 and EZVIZ rates the lock for -10°C to 55°C, which suits tower corridors and shaded villa porches but not a door in direct afternoon sun. EZVIZ also says strong sunlight can affect palm and face recognition. Fire-rated apartment doors need building management approval, and tenants need written landlord consent. Keep the camera aimed at your own doorstep in shared corridors. In a DEWA power cut the lock still opens on its battery, but video calls and alerts wait for the router.

Questions about the EZVIZ Y3000FVP Plus Palm Vein and Face Recognition Smart Lock

What is the EZVIZ Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
It is EZVIZ's mortise smart lock that opens by 3D face recognition, palm vein, fingerprint, PIN, phone or mechanical key. It has an outside camera, a 4-inch indoor screen, two-way video calling, radar presence alerts and a 5,000mAh rechargeable battery. It connects directly to Wi-Fi with no hub.

How much is the Y3000FVP Plus in Dubai?
Chevron down icon
At our last check it was AED 1,699 on noon and AED 1,699.99 on Amazon.ae, both sold by GoodPromise UAE for the 6068 version. Prices change with promotions, so treat these as a guide. Supply and professional fitting are quoted together if you buy through us.

How does palm vein recognition work?
Chevron down icon
A sensor uses near infrared light to read the pattern of veins under the skin of your palm. You hold your open palm 15 to 25cm from the sensor, with fingers outside the scan area. EZVIZ recommends about 10cm for children. The template is stored on the lock, not in the cloud.

Is palm vein better than fingerprint for a Dubai home?
Chevron down icon
For some households, yes. It needs no contact, so sand, sweat, cream or worn fingerprints do not stop it, which helps older family members and staff who do a lot of cleaning. Fingerprint is still faster for many people, so we enrol both. EZVIZ notes strong sunlight can affect palm scanning.

Can someone who wears a niqab use this lock?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Face recognition needs to see the face, but palm vein does not, so anyone who covers their face outdoors can open the door by palm without removing anything. That is one of the main reasons we suggest the Y3000FVP Plus over face-only camera locks for some Dubai families.

Can children open the Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
Face recognition works for people between 1.2m and 2m tall standing within 1m, so small children are better served by palm vein, fingerprint or PIN. EZVIZ recommends holding a child's palm about 10cm from the sensor. Privacy mode and the app log help parents control and check access.

What is the difference between the Y3000FVP Plus and the Y2000FVS?
Chevron down icon
Both have 3D face recognition, a camera, a 4-inch indoor screen and a 5,000mAh battery. The Y3000FVP Plus adds palm vein and a wider 150 degree camera, and uses a vertical grab handle. The Y2000FVS has a classic lever handle, no palm vein and usually costs AED 500 to 600 less.

Should I choose the Y3000FVP Plus or the EZVIZ DL50FVS?
Chevron down icon
The DL50FVS we list covers face recognition, fingerprint, a camera and an indoor screen, but not palm vein. If everyone at home can use face or fingerprint, it does the job for less. Choose the Y3000FVP Plus when someone needs palm vein, or you want the wider camera.

How is the Y3000FVP Plus different from the DL50FVX?
Chevron down icon
The DL50FVX is EZVIZ's top model. It adds a second lower camera for parcels, colour soft-light night vision, a 2,000mAh backup battery, optional proximity cards and welcome lighting, on a taller 440mm panel. It costs roughly twice as much. For palm vein and a single good camera, the Y3000FVP Plus is enough.

Will the Y3000FVP Plus fit my door?
Chevron down icon
It fits solid hinged doors 40 to 120mm thick that take a 6068 mortise lock body. It does not suit glass, aluminium sliding or US style round bore doors. The panel is 400mm tall, so it needs enough flat door face. We measure the lock body, thickness and clearance before ordering.

What kind of handle does it have?
Chevron down icon
The outside panel doubles as a full-length vertical grab handle, so you pull or push the whole bar rather than pressing a lever. Inside there is a flip handle and a thumb turn. People who prefer a traditional lever should look at the Y2000FVS, which has a similar camera setup.

Can a tenant install the Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
Only with written landlord approval. It replaces the lock body and handles, and the large panels usually need new fixing holes. Keep the original lock to refit when you move out. In towers, building management must also approve changes to fire-rated entrance doors.

Do I need a hub or a subscription?
Chevron down icon
No. Wi-Fi is built in, so there is no hub, and video clips save to storage inside the lock. EZVIZ CloudPlay is an optional paid plan if you want clips kept in the cloud as well. User management, temporary codes and remote unlock in the EZVIZ app are free.

Does the Y3000FVP Plus work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
Plan on the EZVIZ app. EZVIZ's specification for this model does not list Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home or Matter. If you need the lock inside Apple Home, look at the Aqara U300 instead, which does not have a camera but supports Apple Home through Matter.

What happens during a power cut or internet outage?
Chevron down icon
The lock keeps working on its battery, and face, palm, fingerprint and PIN checks happen on the device. Remote unlock, phone alerts and video calls stop until your router is back online. The indoor screen still shows the camera because it is wired to the lock itself.

How long does the battery last?
Chevron down icon
EZVIZ quotes about four months per charge, based on 10 openings a day with Wi-Fi switched off. With Wi-Fi alerts, radar detection and video calls in use, charge it more often. The lock and the app both warn you when the battery is low, well before it stops working.

What if the battery runs out while I am outside?
Chevron down icon
Plug a power bank into the USB-C port on the outside panel. That gives the lock enough power to accept your face, palm, fingerprint or PIN so you can get in and recharge the battery. The mechanical key also works, so keep a spare somewhere sensible, not under the doormat.

How does it cope with Dubai summer heat?
Chevron down icon
EZVIZ rates it for -10°C to 55°C with an IP52 front panel. That is fine for an air-conditioned corridor or a shaded porch. A door in direct afternoon sun in July can run hotter than that, and bright sun can affect face and palm scanning, so shade matters.

Does it lock itself when the door closes?
Chevron down icon
It can lock after a timed delay you set in the app. EZVIZ says locking triggered by the door actually closing needs its separate T2C Bluetooth door sensor. We set the timer during installation so the door does not stay unlocked when someone forgets to lift the handle.

How secure is the Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
Biometric data is processed and stored on the lock. EZVIZ claims face spoofing with photos, videos or masks fails, and a false acceptance rate of 0.0001% or lower in its lab. Five wrong entries lock the keypad for three minutes, a siren sounds if the panel is forced off, and the cylinder is C-grade.

How do I give our maid or driver access?
Chevron down icon
Enrol their palm, fingerprint or face, or give them a personal PIN, and delete it when they leave. Palm vein is often easiest for staff whose fingerprints wear from cleaning. There is no card reader, and short visits are best handled with a temporary code from the app.

Can I see and talk to visitors when I am away?
Chevron down icon
Yes. When someone rings or lingers, the EZVIZ app alerts you and you can open a two-way video call, with an optional voice changer. You can unlock remotely for a trusted visitor. People inside see the caller on the 4-inch screen without needing a phone.

How long does installation take, and do you fit it?
Chevron down icon
Yes, we supply and fit it across Dubai. On a door with a matching 6068 body, allow a few hours for fitting, Wi-Fi setup and enrolling faces, palms and fingerprints for the household. If the door needs recutting for the lock body or panels, we quote that before starting.

What warranty does the Y3000FVP Plus have in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
The Amazon.ae listing shows a one year manufacturer warranty. EZVIZ also offers a three year extended warranty when an authorised EZVIZ installer fits the lock, with a UAE phone and WhatsApp line. Keep the invoice and confirm which warranty applies with whoever fits the lock.

Who should not buy the Y3000FVP Plus?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if your door is in direct sun, if your household uses access cards, or if you want Apple Home. It is more than you need if everyone can use face or fingerprint, where the Y2000FVS or DL50FVS saves money. Tenants without landlord approval should not fit any mortise lock.

What maintenance does it need?
Chevron down icon
Wipe the camera, face sensor and palm sensor with a dry soft cloth, since dust slows recognition. Recharge the battery when warned, accept firmware updates in the EZVIZ app and test the mechanical key every few months. Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the panel.
