The Imou K1S-W is a budget Wi-Fi smart lock with a lever handle that opens by fingerprint, PIN, card, phone or mechanical key. It suits Dubai apartment owners and secondary villa doors where you want simple keyless entry for under AED 400, especially if you already use Imou cameras. The fingerprint reader sits on the handle, so you grip and press. The lock joins 2.4GHz Wi-Fi directly and runs in the Imou Life app, the same app as Imou cameras, for remote unlock, entry records, temporary codes and alerts. Imou lists a tamper alarm, a wrong-attempt alarm, a low battery warning and a high temperature alarm, plus a Class C cylinder in a steel lock body. Four AA batteries last about 12 months at 10 openings a day by Imou's figures, and a USB-C port gives emergency power. Know the limits before buying. It stores 100 fingerprints but only 10 PINs and 10 cards, which is tight for a family with several staff. Imou does not publish the lock body size, backset or an IP rating, so we match the lock body to your door before ordering, and we keep it off doors in direct sun, since it is rated to 55°C. There is no Apple Home support. Against the EZVIZ locks we list, it sits below the Y2000, which costs a little more but clearly documents its 5085 and 6068 lock bodies, an IPX5 front panel and 50 PIN and card slots.

The K1S-W is a lever handle lock that uses a mortise lock body inside the door, but Imou does not publish the body size or backset. Most Dubai villa and apartment doors take a 6068 or 5085 body, so we open the door edge and compare it with the supplied body before fitting, and we do not suggest ordering blind. The door must be 35 to 100mm thick. Imou publishes no IP rating and rates the lock to 55°C, so it belongs on an apartment corridor door or a shaded villa entrance, not a door in direct afternoon sun. It does not suit glass doors, aluminium sliding doors or US round bore doors. Fire-rated tower entrance doors need building management approval, and tenants need written landlord consent. With only 10 PINs and 10 cards, households with several staff should rely on fingerprints. In a DEWA power cut the lock still opens on its AA batteries, but app alerts stop until the router is back.
