A HomeKit smart lock that lets iPhone and Apple Watch users tap the door to unlock, made for Apple households in Dubai villas and apartments.
The LNDU HK01 is a smart deadbolt lock built around Apple Home Key. You add a key to the Home app on your iPhone, then tap the phone or your Apple Watch on the lock's reader to get in. There is no app to open first and no code to type. It fits Apple households better than mixed ones. Anyone who wants to use Home Key needs an iPhone or Apple Watch, since there is no Android version. In a Dubai apartment or villa where everyone is on iPhones, it makes a low-effort front door. People without an iPhone still get in by fingerprint, PIN, or the physical key. Renters can use it too, because it fits onto the existing deadbolt with no drilling and comes off cleanly later. You get six ways in total: Home Key tap, fingerprint, PIN, key, Siri, and the app. Local control over Bluetooth works on its own. For unlocking while you are away, or door-open alerts on your phone, you add the WiFi gateway. It runs on eight AA batteries that last around eight months, with a USB-C port on the front for power if they die at the door. Honest limits: it is ANSI Grade 3, fine for homes but not the toughest grade. Siri needs a HomePod or Apple TV at home. And it is Apple-first, so Google and Alexa users should look elsewhere.

Most Dubai front doors are solid timber or metal fire-rated doors, usually 40 to 50mm thick, so the 35 to 55mm fit range covers the majority of villa and apartment entrances. Measure your door first if it is a heavy building main door. Around seven in ten residents here rent, so if you rent, ask your landlord or building management before fitting this. It swaps onto the existing deadbolt with no drilling, so it comes off cleanly when you move out and you can refit the original lock. Summer heat matters. The lock is rated to 60C, but a door in direct afternoon sun can read hotter at the surface, so a shaded or recessed doorway is kinder to the battery and the fingerprint reader. The lock runs on AA batteries, so it needs no wiring, and the optional WiFi gateway plugs into a normal Type-G UAE socket. Keep your WiFi reaching the door for remote features, which is simple in a flat but may need a mesh point near a villa gate.
