A screw-on retrofit for an existing deadbolt, the one Lockin a tenant can fit and take away again.
The G30 is the cheap way into a smart lock and the only Lockin we list that a tenant can fit and later take away. It clamps over the inside thumb turn of an existing deadbolt, so the outside of the door does not change, your key keeps working and nothing is drilled. The catch is that your door has to have that thumb turn. Plenty of Dubai doors use a mortise lock with a euro cylinder and a lever, and the G30 has nothing to grip. Send us a photo of the inside face before you buy anything. Two bundles sit on Amazon.ae. The lock-and-bridge kit on its own ships in from outside the UAE and takes longer to arrive, so we quote it on request. Our AED 869 kit adds the Keypad Pro, the fingerprint and PIN pad for the outside. If you are patient, buying the lock-and-bridge kit and adding the keypad separately usually costs less, which is the arithmetic we would do ourselves. What you get is app control, Alexa and Google, codes for the maid, a log of who came in and an auto lock on a delay you set. What you do not get is a camera, a screen, vein reading or Apple Home.

Two things decide whether the G30 belongs on your door. First, the inside face needs a round thumb turn on a single cylinder deadbolt for the lock to clamp onto. Many Dubai apartments use a mortise lock with a euro cylinder and a lever instead, and the G30 has nothing to hold. Second, heat. The lock body is rated to 50C and lives inside the flat, so it is fine. The keypad carries the same 50C ceiling but lives outside, and a Dubai door in direct sun goes well past that between June and September. Put the keypad in shade, or on the wall of a covered lobby. For tenants this is the easiest Lockin to get past a landlord, since nothing is drilled and the original lock is back in ten minutes. Holiday home owners like it for the same reason, because a guest code can be issued and cancelled from the app without anyone handing over a key.
Lockin in the UAE. Sold through UAE smart home retail. Its palm-vein and finger-vein locks read blood-vessel patterns rather than a fingerprint surface, which is a class of lock most brands here do not offer.
