The OLA Slim Pro is the value pick in our Lockin range and the one to fit on a narrow aluminium door, the kind you find on a villa side gate, a garden room or a balcony. Its plates are only wide enough to sit on a slim stile, so it goes where a normal digital lock would overhang the frame or foul the glass. At AED 499 it is the cheapest Lockin we list, and it earns that price by leaving things out. There is no camera, no screen and no Wi-Fi inside the lock. What you get is a fingerprint reader on both faces, a PIN pad, NFC cards, a Bluetooth app key and a mechanical key, plus linked unlocking that opens a second Lockin lock at the same time, so a gate and a front door can open on one touch. Against the plain OLA Slim we already list, the Pro adds the reader on the inside face, the linked unlocking and a choice of push-pull or lever handle. Power is four AA batteries, which is cheap to run and easy to fix at midnight. Remote access is the catch. The lock talks Bluetooth at the door, so to open it from the office you need Lockin's Wi-Fi gateway, bought separately and plugged in within range of the door. If that matters, buy a lock with Wi-Fi built in instead.

Aluminium and glass doors are everywhere in Dubai, on villa courtyards, garden rooms and balconies, and most digital locks are too wide for them. The body is IP65, so dust storms and the winter rain are fine, but direct afternoon sun on a dark aluminium door is the real test here. Plan on changing the AA cells once a year rather than waiting for them to leak, because heat shortens alkaline life and a leaked cell ruins the battery bay. Linked unlocking suits a villa where the boundary gate and the house door are both Lockin. Tenants are usually fine, since the lock swaps into an existing narrow stile door and the old one can go back at handover, but get the landlord to agree in writing anyway. DEWA cuts do not stop it, because nothing on the door is mains powered.
