A 3D infrared camera reads your face in about a second and works in the dark, so it opens on a late arrival as easily as a bright morning. Behind the face sit seven more ways in: finger vein, fingerprint, a PIN on the 4.7-inch touchscreen, an NFC card, a mechanical key, Bluetooth from the app and a temporary passcode. That range is the real point. Finger vein reads the vessel pattern under the skin rather than the surface of the fingertip, so it keeps working on the sweaty, sandy or worn hands that make an ordinary fingerprint lock fail in Dubai. Two lithium batteries share the load, a 5000mAh main cell and a 2250mAh backup, so the lock stays live while you charge or swap one. Be clear-eyed about the biometrics.
