Buy the SV40 if ordinary fingerprint readers fail for people in your household. It reads the vein pattern beneath the skin using infrared light rather than the ridge pattern on the surface, and that single difference is why it keeps working on a damp finger, a dusty finger or a fingertip worn smooth by manual work. Those are the exact conditions that make a normal fingerprint lock frustrating in Dubai, where sand is everywhere and hands are either sweating or just out of a wash. Do not read that as an unbeatable lock. Vein reading is harder to lift and copy than a fingerprint left on a glass, because the pattern is inside the finger rather than deposited on surfaces, but no consumer biometric is beyond defeat and we would not sell it to you on that claim. Treat it as a reliability improvement first and a security improvement second. Everything else is a conventional replacement lock: keypad PIN, app through the Lockin gateway, mechanical key, auto-lock and a per-user log. Lockin is new to our range, so support runs through a distributor and through us rather than a showroom.

Failed fingerprint reads are a genuine Dubai complaint rather than a marketing invention. Fine sand blows into everything, hands sweat the moment they leave air conditioning, and anyone doing manual work outdoors ends up with fingertips a capacitive sensor struggles to read. A vein reader is unaffected by all of that, because the pattern it looks at is under the skin rather than on it. That makes this the lock to specify where staff, drivers or gardeners use the same door as the family and the household is tired of second attempts. Fitting is a full replacement, so the door is worked and this belongs on a property you own, with thickness and backset measured before ordering. Lockin warranty here runs through a distributor rather than a lock showroom, so a main door on an owned villa is still a Yale conversation if service coverage is your priority.
Lockin in the UAE. Sold through UAE smart home retail. Its palm-vein and finger-vein locks read blood-vessel patterns rather than a fingerprint surface, which is a class of lock most brands here do not offer.
