The Veno 3 is the Lockin lock for people who want face opening and a door camera in one panel, and in the UAE it is a special order. No shop here stocks it, so we bring it in and quote the price with the lead time before you commit. Lockin builds it as a deadbolt style set. The outside panel holds a structured light 3D face sensor, a 360 degree palm vein reader, a fingerprint pad, a touch keypad with NFC, a doorbell button and a wide angle camera at the top. The inside panel has a thumb turn and an emergency key cylinder. One bolt throws into a strike on the door frame. That last detail decides most Dubai jobs. Apartment and villa entrance doors here usually carry a European mortise body with a lever handle on both sides, and the Veno 3 is not a like for like swap for one of those. No lever handle comes in the box either. We measure your door first, and if the door is wrong for this lock we say so before you pay anything. Where it earns its money is the camera. Most Dubai entrance doors are a European mortise with a euro cylinder and a lever handle, so a deadbolt style lock like this needs the door prepared, and on some doors it is simply the wrong shape. We check before we order anything. In a tower, the flat entrance door is usually fire rated. Cutting it can void that rating and the building manager may refuse the change, so ask them first. If you rent, get written approval from the landlord and keep the original lock in a box for the handover. Batteries mean a DEWA cut does not lock you out, but the camera and remote viewing stop until the Wi-Fi returns. On a west facing villa door in July the panel bakes in direct sun, which shortens battery life, so a porch or a shade line helps a lot. Dust is the other local factor.
