Wave your palm and the door opens, with no camera and no monthly fee.
The Veno is the Lockin palm lock to buy when you want keyless entry without a camera watching your hallway, and at AED 979 it sits in the sensible middle of the Veno family. Installation is quoted separately. It reads the veins under your palm instead of the ridges on your finger, which Lockin rates at 0.17 seconds and 99.9 percent accuracy. Wet hands, dry hands, henna, cement dust from a site visit, none of that stops it, and there is nothing left behind on the panel for anybody to copy. Six ways in are supported: palm, fingerprint, PIN code, the app, voice through your smart speaker, and a mechanical key. Battery life is the part that matters in this climate. Lockin quotes up to seven months from the rechargeable pack, and if it ever runs flat you can hold a power bank to the USB-C port and open the door. Two numbers make it a good fit for Dubai: an IP65 rating for dust, and a rated working range up to 70 degrees, which covers a sun beaten villa door in August. The catch is the fitting. This is a deadbolt replacement built around American doors, and most entrance doors here are European mortise sets with lever handles. We check yours before anything is ordered.

Fitting is the thing to settle first. The Veno is a deadbolt replacement designed for American doors, while most Dubai flats and villas use a European mortise body with lever handles on both sides. On many doors that means preparation work, and on some it means this is the wrong lock and we will tell you so. Send photos of both faces of the door and the door edge before you decide. Heat and dust are kinder to this one than to most. IP65 and a rated ceiling of 70 degrees cover a west facing villa door in August, though shade still helps the battery last. A DEWA cut does not lock you out because the lock runs on its own battery, but app control pauses until your router is back. Tenants need written landlord approval, and tower doors are usually fire rated, so ask building management before anyone drills.
Lockin in the UAE. Sold through UAE smart home retail. Its palm-vein and finger-vein locks read blood-vessel patterns rather than a fingerprint surface, which is a class of lock most brands here do not offer.
