Overview

What it is and where it fits

The Solity GP-6000BAK is a face recognition door lock made in Korea. Stand in front of it and it reads your face in about a second, then opens, so you walk in with your hands full of shopping. If you would rather not use your face, there are five other ways in: fingerprint, PIN code, an RFID card, a physical key, and the Solity Smart Home app over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. That is six methods in one lock. It suits a Dubai villa or townhouse front door, and it fits many apartment doors too, as long as the door is wood or steel and 40 to 70mm thick. The push-pull handle means you push or pull once the lock knows you, with no knob to turn. Families can store up to 100 faces, 100 fingerprints and 100 cards, so everyone gets their own entry. The app keeps a live log of who came in and when, and sends a push alert for each unlock, a low battery, or a forced-entry attempt. Be clear on the limits. It runs the Solity app only, so it does not link to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Matter. Fingerprint reads can slow with very wet hands. It uses AA batteries, not mains power. For a Dubai home that wants quick, keyless entry, it does the job well.

  • Opens on your face in about a second, hands free
  • Six ways in: face, fingerprint, PIN, card, key and app
  • Live entry log and instant phone alerts for every unlock
  • Fake-passcode decoy and inside double-lock keep intruders out

What to check before you order

Most Dubai villa and apartment front doors are wood or steel in the 40 to 70mm range, so this lock fits the majority of them. Heat matters here. On a villa the outer panel sits in direct sun, and very hot surfaces or sweaty fingers can make fingerprint reads slower, so the face reader and PIN are useful backups in July and August. The lock runs on AA batteries, not mains power, so a DEWA power cut does not lock you out and there is no wiring to the door. Wi-Fi is only needed for remote features, and your router should reach the front door. That is easy in an apartment, but check the signal at a villa gate or a far entrance. Renting? Around seven in ten Dubai residents do, so ask your landlord or agent first, since fitting the lock means drilling the door. The UAE seller lists a one-year warranty, and we handle supply, fitting and after-sales support here in Dubai.

Solity in the UAE. A Korean digital-lock maker with a long track record in Asia. UAE availability is still thin: a few specialist lock retailers carry the G-series and mainstream marketplaces stock it only now and then, so we source and support these directly rather than pointing you at a shelf.

Questions about the Solity GP-6000BAK Face Recognition Lock

What is the Solity GP-6000BAK?
Chevron down icon
It is a face recognition front door lock made in Korea by Solity. Stand in front of it and it reads your face and opens in about a second. You also get fingerprint, PIN, an RFID card, a physical key and app control, so six ways to get in.

Will it fit my villa door?
Chevron down icon
Most likely yes. It fits wooden and steel doors between 40 and 70mm thick, which covers the majority of Dubai villa and townhouse front doors. The push-pull handle suits a main entrance. If your door is thicker, thinner or an odd shape, send us a photo and the measurements and we will check.

Will it fit my apartment door?
Chevron down icon
Usually yes. Standard apartment entrance doors in Dubai are wood or steel and sit inside the 40 to 70mm range. The main thing to check is whether your building allows a lock change, as some towers have rules about front door hardware. We can confirm fit before you buy.

I rent my home. Can I use it and will my landlord allow it?
Chevron down icon
You can, but ask first. Fitting the lock means drilling and swapping your current lock, so you need the landlord or agent's permission. Keep your original lock and refit it when you move out. Around seven in ten Dubai residents rent, so this is common and most landlords agree when asked.

Who installs it?
Chevron down icon
We do. Our team fits it at your Dubai home, sets up the first faces, fingerprints and cards, and shows you the app. A standard door takes about an hour. You can fit it yourself with basic tools, but a clean fit matters on a front door, so most people let us handle it.

Does it need Wi-Fi or a hub?
Chevron down icon
No hub is needed. The lock works on its own for face, fingerprint, PIN, card and key. Wi-Fi is only for the extras: remote lock and unlock from your phone, live entry logs and push alerts. Connect it to your home Wi-Fi and the app handles the rest. Bluetooth covers close-range control.

Does it work with Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa?
Chevron down icon
No. This lock runs on the Solity Smart Home app only. It does not link to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Matter. If you want the lock to sit inside one of those systems with your other devices, tell us and we will suggest a model that does.

Will the face and fingerprint reading work in Dubai summer heat?
Chevron down icon
Yes, in normal use. The 3D face reader works day or night and is not troubled by heat. Fingerprints can read slower if your hands are very sweaty or wet, which happens in July and August, so the face reader and PIN make easy backups on hot days.

How long do the batteries last, and what happens in a power cut?
Chevron down icon
A set of AA batteries lasts around six to eight months for a normal family, and the lock warns you well before they run low. It does not use mains power, so a DEWA outage does not lock you out. If the batteries ever die fully, you can power it from an external source or use the key.

Is there a physical key backup?
Chevron down icon
Yes. It comes with two mechanical keys and a keyhole, so you always have a manual way in. Keep a spare key somewhere safe away from the door, with a trusted neighbour or family member, in case your phone is flat and you forget your PIN on the same day.

Can I give access to guests, staff or a cleaner?
Chevron down icon
Yes. Register a fingerprint, face, card or PIN for each person, up to 100 of each. Your maid or cleaner gets their own entry, and the app log shows exactly when they arrived and left. When someone stops working for you, delete their entry in the app and their access ends at once.

Can it be hacked or forced open?
Chevron down icon
It is built to resist both. A forced-entry or tamper attempt sets off an alarm. The fake-passcode function lets you hide your real PIN inside extra random digits, so no one reading over your shoulder learns it. From inside, a double-lock blocks every outside method at once.

How many users can it hold, and does the app suit a whole family?
Chevron down icon
Up to 100 faces, 100 fingerprints and 100 cards, so a large family and staff are covered. The Solity app manages users, shows the entry log and sends alerts. You decide who is registered and can add or remove people any time from your phone.

Does it work without the internet?
Chevron down icon
Yes. All the day-to-day unlocking, by face, fingerprint, PIN, card or key, works with no internet at all. You only need Wi-Fi for remote control and phone alerts. If your router goes down, you still get in normally and just lose the remote features until it is back.

What is in the box?
Chevron down icon
You get the indoor and outdoor lock bodies and panels, two mechanical keys, RFID cards, and the mounting and fitting hardware. You add AA batteries and pair the app to turn on the smart features. We supply all of this and set it up for you during installation.

What warranty and support do I get in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
The UAE seller lists a one-year warranty on this unit. Some other countries advertise two to three years, but only the UAE term applies to a lock bought here. We handle supply, fitting and after-sales support locally in Dubai, so you have someone to call if anything goes wrong.

How much does it cost and how do I buy from you?
Chevron down icon
We source this lock to order, so the price and lead time move with stock and the dirham, and it is not always on the shelf in the UAE. Send us your door details and we will reply with today's price, availability and a fitted quote for your Dubai home.

How does it compare to the Aqara D200i?
Chevron down icon
The Aqara D200i is a fingerprint and app lock that works with Apple Home and Google. The Solity GP-6000BAK adds 3D face recognition and a push-pull handle, but stays inside the Solity app. Choose the Solity for face unlock, choose the Aqara if you want the lock inside your smart home platform.

Who should not buy this lock?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if you must have Apple Home, Google or Alexa control, since it uses the Solity app only. Skip it if your door falls outside 40 to 70mm or is a glass or aluminium-framed type. And if you rent and your landlord says no to a lock change, wait until you own.

Can a photo or video fool the face recognition?
Chevron down icon
It uses 3D face reading, not a flat 2D photo scan, so a printed picture or a phone screen should not open it. It maps the shape of your face. For extra peace of mind you can pair face unlock with a PIN, and every unlock is recorded in the app.

Does the face reader work in the dark?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The face reader does not rely on room light, so it works at night and in a dim villa entrance or apartment corridor. If you would rather not use your face after dark, the fingerprint reader and the keypad light up and work just as well.

What if the batteries die completely while I am out?
Chevron down icon
You have two backups. The lock takes emergency external power, so a portable power source held to the outdoor panel wakes it long enough to unlock. You also have the mechanical key. The lock warns you for weeks before it reaches that point, so a full flat battery is rare.
