Overview

What it is and where it fits

The PETKIT Fresh Element Solo (model P570) is a WiFi automatic feeder for dry cat and small-dog food. The 3L hopper holds about 1.33kg of kibble, roughly 15 days of meals for one adult cat, so you refill it far less often. You set the schedule in the free PETKIT app: up to 10 meals a day, 1 to 5 portions each at about 10g a portion. From your phone you can add an extra feed, check what the feeder has dispensed, and get a low-food alert. There is also a button on the unit for a manual feed without the app. It suits busy Dubai households, whether you leave your cat in an apartment during long office hours or you travel and someone drops by to top up water. Renters like it because nothing is drilled or wired in. A silicone seal, a desiccant pocket and an auto-shut outlet keep the kibble dry and stop a determined cat from digging out extra. Be clear on the limits. It handles dry kibble up to 12mm and freeze-dried food up to 9mm, not wet food. There is no camera and no Alexa, Google or Apple Home link, so this is WiFi scheduling only. The USB cable is included, but the plug adapter and the backup AAA batteries are not.

  • Feed on schedule from your phone, up to 10 meals a day
  • 3L hopper feeds one cat for about two weeks between refills
  • AAA backup keeps meals coming through a DEWA power cut
  • Sealed, desiccant-dried hopper keeps kibble fresh in Dubai humidity

What to check before you order

Dubai homes run on 220-240V Type-G sockets, and this feeder charges through a USB cable, so you just need a common USB plug adapter (it is not in the box). Keep it indoors in air-conditioned rooms. The desiccant pocket and silicone seal matter here, because summer humidity and fine dust can turn open kibble stale or clumpy fast. In a large villa, place the feeder within solid reach of your 2.4GHz WiFi, since thick walls and long hallways can weaken the signal in far bedrooms or a maid's room. If DEWA power blips, the AAA backup slot keeps feeding for about 7 days, though you supply the batteries. On support, PETKIT's stated 1-year warranty points at petkit.com and US distributors, not the UAE. Local units come from Amazon.ae and noon marketplace sellers, so your cover is the retailer's return window. Amazon.ae gives 15 days, which is the safer place to buy.

Petkit in the UAE. Smart pet feeders, fountains and litter devices, widely stocked on Amazon.ae for the UAE's large pet-owning expat base.

Questions about the Petkit Fresh Element Solo Automatic Pet Feeder 3L

What is the PETKIT Fresh Element Solo?
Chevron down icon
It is a WiFi automatic feeder for dry cat and small-dog food. You fill the 3L hopper, set a meal schedule in the PETKIT app, and it drops measured portions into a stainless-steel bowl. You can also feed on demand from your phone or from the button on the unit itself.

Is it right for my Dubai apartment?
Chevron down icon
Yes. It sits neatly on a kitchen or utility-room floor, runs off a USB plug, and needs no drilling or wiring, which suits renters. If you work long hours, it keeps your cat on regular small meals instead of one big bowl that goes stale in the AC-dry air.

Is it good for a villa?
Chevron down icon
It works well in a villa, with one caveat. Put it where your 2.4GHz WiFi is strong, because thick walls and long hallways in larger villas can weaken the signal. If the feeder sits in a far kitchen or store room, test the connection there before you rely on it while away.

Does it need Wi-Fi to work?
Chevron down icon
For scheduling and phone control, yes, it uses 2.4GHz WiFi. If your WiFi drops, any schedule already saved on the feeder keeps running, and the button on the unit still gives a manual feed. You only lose remote control and alerts until the connection comes back.

Do I need a hub or bridge?
Chevron down icon
No. The feeder connects straight to your home WiFi router, so there is no separate hub, bridge or gateway to buy. You just need a 2.4GHz WiFi network and the free PETKIT app on your phone to link it and set your feeding times.

Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
Chevron down icon
No. Scheduling, manual feeds, feeding history and low-food alerts are all in the free PETKIT app at no charge. This model has no camera, so there is no video storage plan to pay for either. You buy the feeder once and that is it.

Which app controls it?
Chevron down icon
The free PETKIT app, on iOS and Android. It sets your meal times and portions, logs what the feeder has dispensed, sends low-food alerts, and lets you trigger an extra feed from anywhere. The same app also runs PETKIT's other feeders, fountains and litter boxes if you add them later.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
No. This model is WiFi and PETKIT app only, with no Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Home link and no voice control. If you want to add a feed by voice or tie it into wider home routines, look at a higher feeder in the range and confirm the exact features before buying.

Can it handle Dubai summer heat and dust?
Chevron down icon
Kept indoors in air-conditioned rooms, yes. The silicone seal, desiccant pocket and auto-shut outlet keep kibble dry when humidity and fine dust are high. Do not place it in a garage, on a balcony or in direct sun, where heat and moisture would spoil the food and stress the plastic body.

What power does it use, and does it fit a Type-G plug?
Chevron down icon
It runs off a USB cable, which is included. You plug that into any standard USB adapter, which then goes into your normal UAE Type-G socket. The adapter itself is not supplied, so use a spare 5V phone charger or buy a cheap one locally.

Does it come with a plug adapter?
Chevron down icon
No. The box has the feeder, the stainless-steel bowl, a desiccant bag and a USB cable, but no wall plug and no batteries. Almost any 5V USB phone charger works. It is worth buying a small AAA battery pack too, so the backup slot is ready for a power cut.

What happens during a DEWA power cut or Wi-Fi drop?
Chevron down icon
Load 5 AAA batteries into the backup slot and the feeder keeps to its schedule for about 7 days without mains power. A WiFi drop does not stop saved feeds either. You lose only remote control and alerts until power or signal returns. The batteries are not included, so add your own.

How do I set it up, and can you install it for me?
Chevron down icon
Setup is simple: wash the bowl, add kibble, plug in the USB, install the PETKIT app, and follow the pairing steps on 2.4GHz WiFi. Most people finish in about 15 minutes, with nothing to mount or wire. If you would rather not do it, our team can set it up and test the schedule with you.

What does it cost to run?
Chevron down icon
Very little. It sips power over USB, similar to charging a phone, so the effect on your DEWA bill is tiny. The only running cost is kibble and the occasional set of AAA backup batteries. There is no subscription, so after you buy the feeder there are no ongoing app charges.

Is it noisy?
Chevron down icon
It is quiet between meals. At feeding time you hear a short motor whir as the kibble drops, which most cats quickly learn to expect and come running to. The sound is brief and not loud, though light sleepers may notice an early-morning feed in a small apartment.

What warranty and support do I get in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
Be realistic here. PETKIT's published 1-year warranty is written for buyers on petkit.com and US distributors and does not name UAE cover. Units here come from Amazon.ae and noon marketplace sellers, so your practical protection is the retailer's return window. Amazon.ae offers 15 days, which is why we point buyers there.

How much is it and how do I buy from you?
Chevron down icon
The lowest confirmed UAE price is AED 338 at Amazon.ae, with free delivery and a 15-day return. Talk to us and we will help you order the right PETKIT setup for your home, pair it with a water fountain if you like, and make sure it is running before we leave.

Can it feed wet food or pouches?
Chevron down icon
No. It is built for dry food only: kibble up to 12mm and freeze-dried pieces up to 9mm. Wet food, gravy or pouches would clog the outlet and spoil quickly in the heat. If your cat eats mainly wet food, this feeder is not the right choice for those meals.

Can it feed two cats?
Chevron down icon
It can dispense to a shared bowl, but it cannot tell your cats apart or feed them separately. That is fine for two cats who eat calmly together. If one bullies the other, or they are on different diets, a single shared feeder will not manage that, and you may need one per cat.

Will my cat break into it or knock it over?
Chevron down icon
The hopper has a sealing ring and an auto-shut outlet, so a paw cannot fish out extra kibble. At 1.32kg with a low base it is fairly stable, though a large, determined cat could still nudge a very light unit. Placing it in a corner against a wall helps keep it put.

How is it different from the PETKIT YumShare with a camera?
Chevron down icon
This Fresh Element Solo is scheduling only: no camera, no voice control. The YumShare adds a built-in camera so you can watch and record your pet at mealtime from the app. If seeing your cat matters more than price, the YumShare suits you; if you only need reliable feeding, the Solo is better value.

Who should not buy this feeder?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if your pet eats wet food, if you want a camera to watch feeds, or if you need Alexa, Google or Apple Home control. It is also not ideal for large dogs with big appetites, or for homes with no reliable 2.4GHz WiFi where the feeder would sit.
