Overview

What it is and where it fits

The PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder is an automatic dry-food dispenser with a built-in camera, so you can feed your cat and watch them eat while you are out. It holds up to 5 liters of kibble in a sealed hopper and drops food into a stainless-steel bowl on the schedule you set in the app. You can program up to 10 meals a day, with portions from small snacks to full meals, and the app keeps a log of every feed. The 1080p camera has a wide 145-degree lens and night vision, so you can check on your pet in the dark. Two-way audio lets you talk to them, and you can record a short voice clip that plays at meal times to call them over. Motion and sound detection save short clips to a microSD card that you buy separately. It suits Dubai villa owners and apartment tenants who travel, work long hours, or leave pets during Eid or a summer trip. The feeder runs on mains power with battery backup, so a short DEWA cut will not skip a meal. Be honest about the limits. It handles dry kibble only, not wet food or gravy pouches. The camera clips play only inside the PETLIBRO app, not on a computer, and there is no Alexa, Google, or Apple Home support. On battery-only power the camera and Wi-Fi switch off, though scheduled feeding still works.

  • Watch and talk to your cat live in 1080p, day or night
  • Feeds up to 10 meals a day from a 5-litre hopper, on your schedule
  • Battery backup keeps meals running through a DEWA power cut
  • Phone alerts for empty food, blockages, low battery, and Wi-Fi drops

In Dubai homes

What to check before you order

Dubai homes are hard on pet gear, so a few local points matter. The hopper is sealed, which helps keep kibble dry when the AC is off and humidity climbs, but keep the feeder indoors in a cool spot, not on a balcony in summer heat. Dust is real here, so wipe the camera lens now and then for clear video. The plug is a standard UAE three-pin Type-G, and the unit runs on 220-240V mains, so no adapter is needed. Keep D-cell batteries fitted as backup for DEWA cuts; scheduled meals keep running even if Wi-Fi drops. In a large villa, place your router or a mesh point within good range of the feeder, since the camera needs a steady 2.4GHz or 5GHz signal. We supply this unit in the UAE with the full 24-month PETLIBRO warranty, and our team can set up the app, schedule, and camera for you at handover.

Questions about the PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder

What is the PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder?
Chevron down icon
It is an automatic dry-food feeder with a built-in camera. It stores up to 5 litres of kibble, drops set portions into a steel bowl on a timer, and lets you watch, talk to, and record a meal call for your cat from your phone. It suits busy owners and people who travel.

Is it right for my apartment?
Chevron down icon
Yes. It sits neatly in a kitchen or living corner and needs only a power socket and Wi-Fi. Apartment tenants who work long hours or travel often get the most from it, since you can feed and check on your cat from anywhere without a pet sitter visiting every day.

Is it right for my villa?
Chevron down icon
Yes, with one caveat. Villas are larger, so make sure your Wi-Fi reaches the spot where the feeder sits. If the kitchen or utility room is far from the router, add a mesh point nearby. A steady signal keeps the camera and app alerts working. The feeder itself is fine for one cat or a small multi-cat home.

Does it need Wi-Fi?
Chevron down icon
Yes for the smart features. The camera, app control, alerts, and remote feeding all run over your home Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. If Wi-Fi drops, any schedule you already set keeps feeding your cat on time, but you lose live video and remote control until the connection returns.

Does it need a hub or bridge?
Chevron down icon
No. It connects straight to your router over Wi-Fi. There is no separate hub, bridge, or Zigbee gateway to buy. You just plug it in, install the PETLIBRO app, and pair the feeder to your home network during setup.

Do I need a subscription?
Chevron down icon
No subscription is required for the core features. Feeding schedules, live camera, two-way audio, and alerts all work for free in the app. Motion clips save to your own microSD card rather than a paid cloud plan, so there is no monthly fee to use the feeder normally.

Which app controls it?
Chevron down icon
The free PETLIBRO app, on iPhone and Android. You set schedules, watch the camera, talk through the speaker, and record the meal call there. The feeder can be shared across several phones, so the whole family can check on the cat and top up a feed.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home?
Chevron down icon
No. This camera model is controlled through the PETLIBRO app only. It does not link to Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, or SmartThings. If voice control through Alexa or Google matters to you, look at a different feeder, since this one keeps everything inside its own app.

How does it cope with Dubai summer heat?
Chevron down icon
Keep it indoors in an air-conditioned room and it is fine. The sealed hopper helps keep kibble fresh. Do not place it on a balcony or in a hot garage, where high temperatures and humidity can spoil food and stress the electronics. A normal living room or kitchen is the right spot.

Will dust affect the camera?
Chevron down icon
Dust settles fast in Dubai, so give the lens a gentle wipe with a dry cloth every week or two for clear video. Dust does not harm the feeding parts, but a smeared lens makes night footage look hazy. Keeping the unit away from open windows during shamal winds helps.

What power does it use and what plug?
Chevron down icon
It runs on 220-240V mains, the standard UAE supply, with a three-pin Type-G plug. No adapter or voltage converter is needed. There is also a D-cell battery slot for backup. Batteries are not included, so buy a set to cover DEWA outages.

What happens during a power cut?
Chevron down icon
With D-cell batteries fitted, scheduled meals keep running through a DEWA cut. To save battery, the camera, Wi-Fi, and buttons switch off in battery-only mode, so you lose live video until mains power returns. Your cat still gets fed on time, which is the main thing.

Who installs and sets it up?
Chevron down icon
You can do it yourself in about 15 minutes: plug in, fill the hopper, install the app, and pair to Wi-Fi. If you would rather not, our team can deliver it, set the schedule, record the meal call, and test the camera at handover, so it is ready to use.

How much food does it hold and what kind?
Chevron down icon
The hopper holds up to 5 litres of dry kibble, which is several days of food for one cat. It takes kibble between 2 and 15mm across. It does not handle wet food, gravy pouches, or semi-moist treats, so keep it to dry biscuits only to avoid clogging.

How much does it cost to run?
Chevron down icon
Very little. It draws mains power like a small kitchen gadget, so the DEWA cost is tiny. Your only extra spend is D-cell batteries for backup and a microSD card if you want saved clips. There is no subscription, so day-to-day running cost is close to nothing.

Is it noisy at feeding time?
Chevron down icon
There is a short whirr as the food drops, which usually calls the cat over rather than scaring it. It is not loud enough to disturb a bedroom next door. Many cats learn the sound and the recorded meal call and come running before the bowl is even full.

Can more than one person control it?
Chevron down icon
Yes. The feeder can be shared with several phones through the app, so both partners, or the family and a house helper, can check the camera, talk to the cat, and add a feed. This is handy when one person travels and someone else is watching the pet at home.

Does it record video and where is it stored?
Chevron down icon
Motion and sound detection record short clips to a microSD card that you insert yourself, up to 256GB. The card is not included. Clips play back inside the PETLIBRO app on your phone, not on a computer. There is no built-in cloud storage, so no clips are kept if no card is fitted.

What warranty and support do I get in the UAE?
Chevron down icon
We supply the feeder with the full 24-month PETLIBRO warranty, honoured locally, so you are not shipping faulty units overseas. Our team helps with setup and any questions after you buy. Keep your invoice, as it is your proof of purchase for any warranty claim.

How does it compare to the PETKIT YumShare feeders?
Chevron down icon
Both offer camera, app, and scheduling. The PETLIBRO Granary here is a strong value pick with a large 5-litre hopper and battery backup. The PETKIT range often adds different bowl designs and tighter app features. Tell us your budget and whether you need Alexa or Google, and we will match you.

Who should not buy this feeder?
Chevron down icon
Skip it if you feed wet food, want Alexa, Google, or Apple Home control, or need cloud video without a memory card. It is also not ideal if your Wi-Fi barely reaches the feeder's spot. For dry-food homes that want a camera and remote feeding, though, it fits well.
