Aqara Recessed Spot Lights T2

This is a fit-out product rather than a retrofit one, and that is the main thing to decide before pricing it. A recessed T2 goes into a cut aperture in a gypsum ceiling with its driver above the slab, which is straightforward while the ceiling is open and disruptive once it is closed, skimmed and painted. Specified at the right moment it gives you a proper architectural downlight that happens to be addressable: each fitting appears on its own in the Aqara app, so a run over a kitchen island dims separately from the wall wash beside it. It runs on Zigbee through an Aqara hub, which is the correct choice at fixture counts of any size, since twenty fittings on Zigbee build a mesh and twenty on Wi-Fi build a support case. Tunable white is what will get used daily, cooler in the morning and warm after Maghrib. Where the room is a corridor or a store, do not put addressable fittings in it. Ordinary downlights on one Aqara wall switch do the same job for a fraction of the money, and nobody has ever wanted a scene in a utility passage.
