The S100 is a finish upgrade rather than a functional one, and it earns its price in villa reception and living areas where a plastic rocker plate looks wrong against the joinery. It is a glass touch panel with configurable on-screen icons, so one plate on a majlis wall can carry the lighting circuits and the scenes without a row of mismatched switches beside it. Underneath it is the same Aqara platform as the rest of the range, running Zigbee with a Wi-Fi link and reaching Apple Home, Alexa and Google through the hub. Two things to settle before specifying it. It needs a neutral at the box like any panel switch of this type, so it is a villa and new apartment product rather than an older apartment one. And a touch panel has no tactile rocker, which some households genuinely dislike, particularly where older family members or staff use the room. We fit these in reception spaces and keep physical rockers in bedrooms and service areas for that reason.

This is a villa product in Dubai, specified for majlis and living room walls during a fit-out where the switch plate is visible in the design. It requires a neutral, which rules out most older apartment boxes. The panel fits a standard UK wall box, though the depth is greater than a rocker plate, so a shallow box in an older building may need the aperture opening up. Consider who uses the room before choosing touch over a rocker: a glass panel with no physical feedback is not the right thing on a kitchen or utility wall, and we normally mix the two through a house rather than fitting panels everywhere.
