This module controls a motorised roller shutter or blind that is already installed, which is a different job from a lighting relay and the reason it exists as a separate part. Shutter motors need up and down as two interlocked directions rather than simple on and off, and a lighting module wired to one will not work correctly. This one handles the direction logic, learns the travel time of the shutter, and gives you position control, schedules and voice on top of the existing wall control. It fits in the back box behind the shutter switch you already have, so the plate and the motor both stay. In a Dubai villa the practical use is heat rather than privacy: closing shutters on the west elevation through the afternoon takes a measurable load off the air conditioning, and doing that on a schedule means it happens whether anyone is home or not. It is Wi-Fi with no hub, which suits a handful of shutters. It needs a neutral at the box and depth behind the plate, and it needs the motor to be a mains powered type wired to a wall control rather than a self-contained battery or radio blind.
