The G400 is the video doorbell for a Dubai villa that has, or can have, a cable run to the front door. It is wired or PoE only, with no battery at all, which is exactly why round-the-clock recording is practical on it. It is not a tenant's doorbell. One Cat 6 run from a PoE switch carries both power and data, so there is nothing to recharge and nothing to unclip from the wall every few months. It also runs on existing 8 to 24V AC or DC bell wiring, and it joins the network over dual-band Wi-Fi 6 if you would rather not pull data cable. Video is 2K at 1536 by 2048 in a tall 3:4 frame across 165 degrees, so you see a caller head to toe and a parcel left on the floor. Person detection and zone intrusion run on the device itself. Recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512GB in the doorbell body, or to a NAS over SMB, with no plan to pay for. HomeKit Secure Video is supported, though Apple Home streams it below 2K. The honest limits: no battery option, no Zigbee or Thread hub inside it unlike the G410, no memory card and no chime plug in the box, and a 50 C ceiling that matters on a west-facing Dubai door in July.

Most Dubai homes have no doorbell transformer behind the frame and no network cable at the front door, so budget for cabling before you budget for the doorbell. This is an installer or electrician job, not a tenant job. The tidy version in a villa is a Cat 6 run from the rack or DB to the door on a PoE switch, which gives power and data on one cable and lets you put that switch on a small UPS so the doorbell rides out DEWA cuts. If the villa already has an 8 to 24V bell circuit, that works too, but you are then relying on Wi-Fi reaching a door set in blockwork. The included chime takes USB-C power and no plug is supplied, so add a UK Type-G 13A USB adapter for the 220V 50Hz socket. Heat is the real constraint here. Aqara rates the unit to 50 C, and a west-facing Dubai front door in direct afternoon sun can push a surface past that, so favour a shaded reveal, a recessed jamb or a porch soffit over bare wall in full sun. In an apartment, anything screwed to a corridor wall and any cable run along it normally needs the landlord's and the building's approval first, and the camera will see a shared corridor and your neighbours. Dubai's SIRA rules for video surveillance bite hardest on cameras that cover public or shared areas rather than your own doorway, so if the view takes in a communal corridor or entrance, check with building management before you fit it. We make no claim that this model is SIRA approved.
