The G410 is the video doorbell to buy if you want the doorbell to double as your smart home hub. Its indoor chime runs Zigbee 3.0, acts as a Thread border router and works as a Matter controller, so it can stand in for a separate hub. That is the real reason to pick it over a plain doorbell. The camera records 2K to a microSD card in the chime, to a NAS on your network, or into HomeKit Secure Video, and none of the core features sit behind a subscription. Face recognition runs on the device instead of in the cloud. An mmWave radar sensor tells the difference between someone standing at your door and someone walking past it. Power is flexible, with six AA batteries rated for up to five months, or 12 to 24V doorbell wiring for continuous recording. The limits matter here. The doorbell is rated IPX3, which is splash resistant and not waterproof, so it needs cover. It is rated to 50 C, and a west facing villa door in July will test that. Apple Home shows a lower resolution than the Aqara app does. The chime hub itself only tolerates 0 to 40 C, so it has to sit indoors in a cooled room. Skip it if your flat has a building intercom and nowhere sensible to mount a doorbell.

Most Dubai apartments have a building intercom at the lobby and no doorbell wiring at the flat door, so in a flat the G410 almost always runs on its six AA batteries. It does not replace the intercom and it will not release the building entrance. Anything screwed or stuck to a flat door or the corridor wall usually needs the landlord's or the building manager's approval, and some towers refuse it outright, so ask before you drill. Villas are the easier fit, because many already have a bell push on 12 to 24V wiring that the doorbell can use for continuous recording. Heat is the real constraint. The doorbell is rated to 50 C and the chime hub only to 40 C, so the chime goes indoors in a cooled room on a UK Type-G USB plug from a 220V socket, and the doorbell wants shade. A west or south facing door in July takes direct sun, and the surface gets far hotter than the air, so fit it under a porch, in a recess or behind a shield. The IPX3 rating is splash resistant rather than waterproof, which matters less for rain here than for hose cleaning and the fine dust that follows a shamal. In a DEWA power cut the chime hub loses power and the camera goes offline, so put the chime on a small UPS if you want it to ride out short cuts. SIRA regulates video surveillance in Dubai, and its requirements bite on cameras covering shared and public areas rather than on your own doorway. Aim the camera at your own entrance, use the privacy masking in the app for anything beyond it, and speak to building management before a camera looks down a shared corridor. Face recognition adds a second duty, because enrolling family, staff or a driver means holding data about their faces. Tell them, get their agreement, and do not enrol neighbours or passers-by.
