This is a wall control panel, not a hub, and getting that wrong is the expensive mistake in this category. It goes into a standard switch back box and gives a room a touchscreen with a physical rotary dial for scenes, lighting, curtains and climate. Your Zigbee sensors, curtain motors and switches still pair to a hub such as the M2 or M100, and this is the screen in front of that system. The dial is the reason to pick it over a flat panel. Turning a knob to dim a light or set a curtain position is something anyone understands without instruction, which is exactly the point in a majlis or an entrance used by guests, children and household staff who will never be added to a home app. Two site checks decide whether it can be fitted at all: back box depth and the presence of a neutral wire. Both are answered by taking one switch plate off. Specify it for two or three positions that people actually use rather than every switch in the villa, where the cost climbs quickly for very little over a normal smart switch.

Back box depth is the usual blocker in Dubai villas, where shallow boxes are common and deepening one means opening the wall. The neutral wire is the second check: present in most newer villa wiring, missing in a fair number of older apartments. We take a plate off during the site visit and confirm both before anything is ordered. The positions worth fitting are the entrance, the majlis and the master bedroom, because those are the rooms where somebody outside the household needs to change the lights or the curtains. It does not replace your hub, and a panel bought without one leaves you with a screen and nothing behind it.
