The Pro Mini is the smaller Homey, and the thing it keeps from the full Pro is the one that matters: the automation logic runs on the device in your house rather than in a cloud. Rules fire during an internet outage, which is the whole argument against the Homey Bridge. What it gives up is capacity and radios. It carries Zigbee, Thread, Matter, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so a modern mixed household runs from one app, and it drops the Z-Wave and 433MHz support that the Pro has. If your villa has an old 433MHz gate remote, legacy blind receivers or a Z-Wave lock from a previous project, that gap decides the purchase and the full Pro is the one to buy. Device capacity is lower too, which is the usual reason a household outgrows it. It sits between the Bridge and the Pro in a straightforward way: the Bridge is cheap and stops working during an outage, the Mini is local and modest, the Pro is local and covers everything. For an apartment or a smaller villa built on Zigbee, Thread and Matter devices, the Mini is the sensible middle and it saves a meaningful amount.

The Mini keeps that behaviour, so lighting scenes and curtain schedules continue while the family is away. Where it falls down in this market is legacy hardware: a lot of Dubai villas have a 433MHz gate or blind remote from an earlier install, and the Mini has no 433MHz radio, so those devices stay outside the system. It has no infrared either, which means split AC control needs separate hardware. Before choosing between Mini and Pro, walk the property and count what is genuinely there rather than what is being bought new, because the older equipment is what decides it.
