The MOES ZigBee Smart Home Gateway is the small bridge that makes MOES ZigBee gear usable from your phone. It sits on a shelf, a TV unit or next to your router, and runs off a Micro-USB cable at 5V, so there is no mains wiring and no electrician. It speaks ZigBee 3.0 to your switches and sensors, then passes that traffic over your 2.4GHz WiFi to the Smart Life or Tuya cloud. That gives you app control, schedules and voice control through Alexa and Google Home. This is the piece most people buy first. MOES ZigBee wall switches, scene controllers and sensors cannot reach the app on their own. They need this gateway, or an equivalent Tuya ZigBee gateway, sitting in the middle. One hub holds up to 50 sub-devices, which is enough for a two or three bedroom apartment in Dubai Marina or JVC, and usually a small villa as well. Be realistic about what you are buying. MOES is the affordable Tuya option next to Aqara, Sonoff and Tapo, and it is strongest on retrofit work and no-neutral switches. Reliability is not at Aqara level. The Amazon.ae listing averages 4.1 stars from 324 ratings, and the negative reviews cluster on two things: units going dead after a few weeks, and Google Home pairing trouble. MOES also states the hub is meant for MOES ZigBee devices, not other brands. For a budget MOES system it is the right starting block. For a mixed brand home, spend more.

Fitment does not apply to this product. It is not a wall device, so there is no back box, no faceplate and no BS1363 Type-G question to answer. It stands free on a shelf or beside the router. Power comes from any USB source at 5V/1A, so a normal Type-G USB charger on Dubai's 220-240V supply is fine, and a router USB port or power bank works too. The no-neutral wiring problem in older flats around Deira, Karama and Bur Dubai does not touch this unit either, because it is not a switch. Neutral matters for the MOES wall switches you pair to it, and that is where our electricians come in. We open the back box, test live and neutral, and fit the switch properly, or use a no-neutral model where the wiring demands it. The hub itself you can set up yourself in about ten minutes. Keep it indoors, out of direct sun and away from dusty balconies, since it is rated only to 55°C.
MOES in the UAE. A value brand in the Tuya and Zigbee ecosystem, sold in the UAE mainly through its own Amazon.ae store with genuine local stock and review history. Best known among smart-home enthusiasts for retrofit modules, no-neutral switches and scene controllers rather than as a household name. Most devices run on the Smart Life or Tuya app, and the Zigbee ones need a MOES or Tuya gateway. Note that MOES rarely states the wall-box pattern on its switch listings, so we confirm back-box fit before fitting one.
