This is the motion sensor for a Lutron Caseta lighting system, and it only makes sense if you already own, or are about to buy, a Caseta dimmer or switch. On its own it controls nothing. Pair it with a Caseta dimmer, switch or fan control and it turns that circuit on when someone walks into the room, then off again once the room has been empty for the time you set. You can also run it in vacancy mode, where you switch the light on by hand and the sensor only handles the off. It reads body heat through a passive infrared lens, covers 180 degrees and sees roughly 18 metres in a straight line. Most of our Dubai clients fit these in villa corridors, stairwells, store rooms and laundries, the places where a light quietly burns all day. Power is one CR123A lithium cell, rated by Lutron at about ten years, and there is no wiring at all: it stands on a shelf or screws to a wall or corner with the bracket in the box. Fitting it is a ten minute DIY job. The limits matter. It speaks Lutron's own Clear Connect radio, not Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread or Matter, so it will not appear in Apple Home, Alexa or Google by itself. Add a Caseta Smart Bridge if you want app control, schedules or voice. Infrared reads movement rather than presence, so a person sitting very still can be missed.

Voltage is not a question for this unit. It never touches mains. One CR123A 3V lithium cell runs it, and it talks to the dimmer over Lutron's own radio, so the US 120V versus UAE 240V argument does not apply here, and nothing needs a wall box, a Type-G plug or an electrician. The voltage question sits entirely with the Caseta dimmer, switch or fan control you pair it with. That device is a separate purchase, it does connect to mains, and it must be confirmed as a 220-240V rated model before any electrician wires it into a UAE circuit, because several Caseta models are 120V only. On supply: Lutron's professional lines reach this region through Taxan Gulf and Dubai dealers, but Caseta is a US retail range with no authorised UAE seller, so the Amazon.ae listing is a marketplace import. Warranty and returns run through that reseller, not a Lutron office in Dubai.
