It is the rod counterpart to the E1 track motor: the same Zigbee platform, the same hub, the same automations, mounted on a round pole instead of clipping into a U-rail. Identify the mounting first, because the track and rod versions are separate products and one cannot be made to fit the other. It runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts around a year of daily use, has a manual pull so a tug on the fabric starts the motor, and reaches Apple Home, Alexa and Google through an Aqara hub. The automation is what earns it a place in Dubai rather than the convenience: a temperature or sunlight trigger closes the curtain when the afternoon sun reaches the glass and opens it once the aspect changes, which does more for the room temperature than any schedule. Nothing is drilled, so it suits apartments where altering the wall is not an option.
