The T1S motorises an existing bead-chain roller blind and is the model to specify when the blind is large or the fabric is heavy enough that the cheaper E1 driver labours. It takes over the chain rather than replacing the blind, so the blind, the brackets and the fabric all stay as they are and fitting is a short job. Once it is on an Aqara hub it appears as a shade in Apple Home, Alexa or Google, takes position commands by percentage, and joins scenes alongside lighting and AC. In a Dubai study or media room that is the point: one scene drops the blind, dims the lights and starts the projector rather than three separate actions. Check two things before ordering. The blind must run on a bead chain, because a spring-loaded blind that snaps up has nothing for a driver to turn, and the tube and chain need to match what the driver expects. If the blind is small and light, the E1 driver costs less and does the same job. If it is a wide blackout roller over villa glass, this is the one that keeps working rather than stalling halfway.

On west-facing glass, run it from a heat or sunlight trigger so the blind drops before the room warms, which is worth more here than a schedule that fires at the same time all year.
