Bosch FU30 Plus smart lock: slim face recognition that stores 100 faces, with a 1080p camera and 4.45-inch inside screen, for shaded Dubai apartment doors.
The Bosch FU30 Plus is the slimmest and lowest-priced face recognition smart lock in the Bosch range sold in Dubai, and the only one that stores 100 faces. Pick it for a shaded apartment or villa door, a large household or a small office. It is not the one for a door in full sun. The outside panel stands 47 mm off the door and is 75 mm wide, noticeably trimmer than the FU6 Plus and FU8. Face recognition works from 40 to 90 cm, and the UAE distributor gives a user height range of 1.2 to 1.9 m. Fingerprints, codes and cards are the alternatives, with 100 slots each, plus the app and a key. A 1080p camera with a 160° view feeds the 4.45-inch screen inside, and a visitor can start a live video and audio call to your phone before you let them in. Temporary passwords cover one-off guests. It runs on a single 4200mAh lithium battery with an emergency charging port, and joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without a hub. The lock body is its own mechanical mortise with an electronic sensor, for doors 40 to 100 mm thick, so we check your existing European mortise pocket before ordering. The trade-offs: the rating tops out at 60°C, there is no backup battery, and Alexa or Google control is unconfirmed. The FU30 Plus also does not appear in Bosch's own published smart lock range, so the official UAE distributor, is your only support route.

The slim body is the main reason to choose this lock in Dubai. Some apartment doors open close to a side wall or a shoe cabinet, where a bulky panel gets knocked, and at 47 mm deep and 75 mm wide outside this one is easier to live with. Its 60°C ceiling suits tower corridors, porches and north or east-facing villa doors, not an exposed west-facing entrance. The single battery works harder in summer heat, so recharge it early in July and August rather than waiting for it to run down. Fire-rated tower doors need building management approval, and tenants need written landlord consent because the door is drilled for through-bolts. With 100 face profiles, a villa with drivers, maids, cooks and grown children can put everyone on face unlock. The lock pairs only with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Service and warranty run only through the UAE distributor, so keep their contact details with your invoice.
Bosch in the UAE. Bosch-branded digital locks come from Bosch's smart-lock business in China, not from Bosch's appliance or power-tool divisions. In the UAE they are handled by an official distributor and sold through specialist retail and Amazon.ae, and warranty support runs through that distributor rather than a Bosch-run service centre. Heat ratings vary by model: the lever locks are rated to 55°C, so we recommend them for shaded or covered doors, while several of the face-recognition models are rated higher.
